hi, if anyone can help with this i'll definately put you on my xmas card list! ive spent so much time on this prob. im pulling my hair out.

the card works great in normal mode.

when i start ableton , it says- xtc plugins not properly installed, check installation.

and when i load say, blue synth in an ableton track it says - cant find midi timing clock filter 3.

ive reinstalled sfp 4.0 and it does the same thing.

in my sfp 4.0 install cd, the manual has a .pdf on 'xtc mode'. which tells you nothing about setting up xtc mode! just how to open the plugs in cubase etc.

whats this im reading about an 'xtc project file'? i have xtc mode enabled and sfp running in the 'background'

do you have to set up routings before you close sfp and open ableton?

like i say, this has been vexing me beyond belief for longer than i know.

i sure would be greatfull if someone could help,

thanks,
ad.

what kind of ableton are you running?
6 or 7?
i remember having similar probs with live 6, but since live 7 xtc mode is working on my system.

my advice is not to use xtc.

i use ableton.

i have 21 dsps.
32 stereo asios in andout of scope all to ableton. set as many ableton channels as you like and use scope synths from scope.
it is much much more stable.
in addition the big benefit is that you use scope synths independetelly and if you shut down ableton scope synths are still there.
then, if you want to play ableton and control scope synths you send midi from seq midi source in routing window.
if you want to play a scopes synth without ableton just set it to be connected to scopes midi source.

do not try to put everything into one application.
it is better to have more than one parts of your system but stable and independed running.

make scope the center of your system.
after hours and hours of trying to set a startup default project ready for any new idea i have come to the above conclusion.

set a scope project ready to comunicate with avleton, and at the same time ready to be controled independetely.

yes, words of wisdom.
even though xtc works here i don't use it.
there are not too many benefits you get from the xtc-mode and some devices simply don't work in xtc, the dsp consumption is not less and most of all you get the double latency (if you forget the switch knobs all the time).
