How to install the scope driver to avoid "found new HW"

Yes I'm a noob I know.

Still I've forgotten the right way to do this, and I'm about to do a reinstall of my system because SP3 sucks and steals 45% of my CPU power for no apparent reason.

Should I install the driver when prompted the first time or should I decline the prompted option and do it how again?

Sorry for asking about this...
Thomas

sure, install the driver when you get the "found new hardware" window. you can always browse to the driver/win2k-xp folder in the install files and specify the location of the driver, or windows should find it on it's own.

OK - Thanks Gary!

I remembered that something funky was going to happen if you did this the wrong way.

It will work any way. :)

It will work yes, but if you do it the "wrong" way you will be prompted that the system has found new hardware each time you reboot. This is what I'm trying to avoid :)

nope - I'm pretty sure I did this the wrong way on my current installation and I'm being prompted on every single reboot.
