This message is driving me crazy!!!

Oke... I cannot solve this problem.
When I load i.e. Vectron I obtain this message.
A lot of others devices works ok, but some like Vectron (more than 6 voices), loFi, etc. not!

I've poolished STDM cables, connectors, I've sprayed with contact cleaner... but nothing.
It's not a DSP problem (I think).

I press OK 2 times then all system must be closed because mute!

:-?

Any opinion?

Thanks.

Hi

In the ScreenShot The STM Boards-assign Are UnSeen

* If theScope [The 14 dsp Board] is the 1'st in your CEST.INI
Try assigning "BIG Devs DSP-Hungry" Into This board, and the Other devs InTo OtherBorrds'DSPs

This sounds like the same problem I described about a month ago in the thread on the stm24/48. I never completely resolved the problem. I was running 3 pulsar cards, all pulsar I(4 dsp cards). I would get input channels, or aux outs that would act muted. When I tried changing the channels to board assigments I would get the same error you are getting.

I got a pulsar 2 with 6 dsps on ebay and replaced board one. The same problem. The only way I could get it to work was to remove one of the pulsar cards. I am currently running with 1 - 6 dsp and 1 - 4 dsp board. I sent an email to creamware support and included a project that is giving me problems. They replied it was passed on to an engineer but would not be working on it until atleast August 12.

Thanks to all :)
I will try all solutions this night.

Mark, please let me know when you got a reply from S|C, thanks.
I cannot remove my 4dsp board because it has ProTone registred!
Apart 4 DSP less... :(

ps. my system is: scopeII + scopeII + scope

Until April all worked flawless, now I've problems :-?
Nothing changed on my system!!!

if it's not badly seated (unlikely as you moved it a couple of times), it may be aging of the card or heat related

cheers, Tom

Did you do the old 'remove i/o plate, apply deoxit/stabilant-22, reassemble' trick described in several threads recently?

Check to see if it gets fixed by moving the cable-whip a little. If it does then this procedure should fix it.

SOLVED!!! :D
Just deleted /APP/DSP -> all DSPS (with SFP closed!!!)
the replaced with fresh ones... and all works ok :)

Anyway it's a very strange behaviour...

Thanks to all.

It seems that sometimes the DSP folder becomes corrupt.
Weird "bug" of Scope 4.x

Scope system is mainly well stable but it has a little weakness in his DSP structure.

imho you're on the wrong track...
it's most likely a memory/cache issue and/or related to chipset handling of the IO
I assume you have a 'modern' PC, DualCore etc...

we have 10 MacMinis in the office - 2 have servere hardware failure after less than a year
Unfortunately in a way that the machine doesn't post any errors, but simply keeps 'working'...
one needs only half a day to completely mess up any harddisk connected to it's internal port - with an external drive the machine is working
and these boxes are pretty lame with their 1.6GHZ CPUs, no heavy duty performers ;)

cheers, Tom

maybe the VIA chipset is not the best way to housing the Scope boards...
my system is an old ASUS MB VIA chipset with Athlon 2400+
i planned to switch to a MSI K8NEO4 with a dual core Athlon 64 4800Mhz, that I think is better ;)

If you want a little advise...Msi=Good,using it myself with a 965 chipset.Amd= Bad,measured on todays standarts there is 0 point in buying amd over intel.
My advise like many others will give here is:Intel mainboard with p965 or P35 chipset and a Intel dual or quad cpu.
The amd cores are poorly designed and take up way too much energy for what they deliver. You just can not go wrong with intel board/cpu and scope.

Mh, I need 4 PCI!
So I must go for the MSI + AMD (well tested since 2 years with my other PC) ;)
Thanks for the advice

(read above) of course you can - MacMinis have Intel boards, either supplied by Intel directly or by Asus (dunno)
2 out of 10 is an alarming rate - and it's hardware related without the slightest doubt
the 2nd machine doesn't recognize one memory slot - even with nothing plugged in, it randomly crashed several times a day.
Plugged the disk into another box and the very same installation runs flawless.
These errors are almost impossible to distinguish from software bugs, so I assume there are literally millions running undiscovered ;)

cheers, Tom

I thought we were talking about pc´s ...and no micro atx macs.If we need to splitting hairs..ok. :D.
A tip on the macs you peps may done already is to zap the pram. That helped a mate who is making music with a mini aswell.Same problems...easy fix.

Hmm anybopdy notice what winger said? An SC engineer wont be looking at his problem until at least 12th of August - wonder what will have happened by the 12th to free up an engineer?
:D

if the mentioned engineer isn't a schoolboy he can be on vacation whenever he wants to.
summer holidays in NRW end tomorrow, according to schulferien.org, btw.
