I'm off to the wheatbelt for a coupla nights to play country pubs, so i thought i'd get the Sunday post in early, Jim, 'cos i'll be in the sticks with no internet.
Gone the other way here - tuba, euphoniums & drums. Rough as guts, a colliery/2nd line sketch
"It's not a tuba" - Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kindergarten Cop 1990

Ladies & Gentlemen ....................................Wayne.
3 part horns in the low registers is fatter than any Oberheim Brotha'. That not only takes great knowledge and chops, but patience to record a Euphonia Dixie style.
We must have you as a guest next time you run through the North side of Tahoe. That's incredible music. Funky live drums too. I guess your studio is up to snuff, sure sounds like it. A very nice lean acoustic mix.
It's nice to hear the real person hard at work. You play synths, drums, horns, etc. Feet, lips and fingers. Fuckin'A........
Thanks That Was So Refreshing.
Having that instrument MIDI'd would destroy it IMHO.

Very, Very Nice Wayne.

I like it. Nice drum sounds - very clear. Your hi-hat sometimes jumps from place to place in the stereo-field.

Back from the country now - whew! Played ACDC's 'Back In Black' on the tuba for the drunks in the Pingelly pub. Great folks - Irish & German travellers there too.
JV, the jam is on if i ever hit Nevada again, my word it is. I'll pack tha Golden Handbrake. Euphonia

i like it
Gaz - Taj Mahal is a wise man, i've always thought it safest to travel with a tuba section. I also dig Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy, and a certain Arthur Blythe plays Monk record for nice tuba.
Didn't notice the jumpy hats, Immanuel - it's x/y, kick & snare config, i'll have another listen

Crystal Bay is a great place to gig, the money sucks but the place goes nuts for live groups. They literally dislike the jive fake sequenced groups that sound worse than Kareoke.
I did a couple of cover gigs there w/ that silly mirrored disco ball spinning, but the Grateful Dead / Joplin and Doors attracted young and Old and danced till dawn. Then you walk outside and watch moon on the Lake and listen to the old security guards talk about when Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin played there. It's just too much fun.
PM me when the time comes, I'll make sure your brief stay will be fun. I know every knook and cranny up there. The old dive bars w/ Blues are the absolute best in the west.
