Hy people , I've posted a message one month ago regaridng my troubles with my Pulsar II boards and the new PC Quad core that was so at that time :

AsRock 4core 1600twins P35 chipset
ATI HD3870 video card
2gd ddr2 800mhz Kingstone ram
250 mAxtor Sata HDD
Win XP Pro SPII

Someone said... what do you expect from a cheap mobo as AsRock , and I was by myself wondering the same , so I changed the mobo with an Asus P5K pro , thinking to go better.......no way.

During card installation everything is fine , but when I open Nuendo or Cubase the following error messages appear :

In XTC mode
XTC plugins not properly installed

and also " can't find DSP file...

If I dont use XTC no messages displayed but the ASIO driver doesn't work , producing a lot of noises and cracks , at any latency/sample rate settings.

Another important thing is that if I turn on an external usb Hd the scope platform software crash.
Only Asio doesnt work , Soundforge ( that don't use Asio works) :x
The onboard audio is disabled( bios )

if anyone has some experience in settings please help me because I've finsihed all the tricks.

Thanks a lot
Marco

I've had this once or twice in the past. If you look in the dsp folder, somewhere like - C:\Scope45\App\Dsp - do some of the file icons look strange or greyed out? If you copy the files from the dsp folder on the install disk into the dsp folder on your C drive does this solve your problem?

i used to have the p5k mobo and had lots of crackling.
i found that many people problems with the multimedia performance of this board so i decided to return it and took a gigabyte instead, which is, after a whole lot of fiddling around, running great now.
it doesn´t have to be the p5k which is causing your problems but it might.
good luck!

But he doesn't have a P5K, he has an ASROCK. I've got a P5K and it works flawlessly.

I quess he does have a P5K pro board now. ;)

(by the way, I'm planning to buy myself a P5K (standard) too, as I badly need to upgrade my 6 year old PC! And I need a mobo with 3 PCI slots (3 Pulsar II's here). I'm pretty confident that a P5K will work just fine, as long as I disable all unnecessary devices to free up more IRQ channels). I read a lot of success stories on the forum about this mobo the past year...

cheers

the missing dsp files are caused by the installer not being compatible with multi core processors and the attributes dont get changed properly.

theres a batch file at this thread,

Hi guys , thanks a lot for all your replies , I confirm that I have an Asus P5k pro now .
Stratt , I've tried to copy the dsp file in the install folder , It worked untill I tried to open Prisma synth and then another crash ...

Now the board was asking for activation code also....!

Now I'll try Neutron suggest and then cross the fingers once again...
