Okay, not a special track, but I’ve uploaded it for comments.

It’s the first time I’ve mixed in Scope as opposed to in Cubase.
I thought it was time, now I’ve upgraded to 4.5, to give it a go.
It wasn't without it's headaches, but I've got somewhere!

I used the STM1632 mixer with 12 audio tracks bussed out from Cubase.
I used a variety of effects within the mixer such as:
PEQ4 S, Optimaster, GraphEQ, Masterverb, Lo cut, Hi cut, Stereo expander and autopan.

I’ve not got a great ear for mixing anyway so all comments appreciated.
I think that Optimaster squashed the Kik, which I’ll go back and redo.
The second half of the track is too busy and muddy, which I’ll work on.

Have to say though, I loved my first attempt at mixing in Scope.

Instrumentation:
MiniScope & Modular 3
Kontakt 3 using Symphony of Voices for choirs
Atmosphere
Trilogy for 2 inter-linked bass lines
A batch of Omnisphere samples, Rex’d in Stylus (with internal effects added here such as lo-fi)
Other Stylus loops (home-made)

Omnisphere ?? You mean Atmosphere right?

Hey the good old Spectrasonics SOV kicks major booty still. I have used it since my Emulator V days.

Musically well done. I am in no position to offer criticism on mixing yet although I do agree that the kick was destroyrd by Optimaster.

I have used that a few times because I thought the wizard was the almighty, all knowing entity, and it rendered useless results IMO.

You seem to have a great ear, trust in that.

Optimaster worked for me on material I recorded where the levels were to low, but on hot tracks it turned them into mush.

It's growing on me now, especially through headphones and VERY loud
I got the idea from a sermon I preacehd in April - wonder whether to play the track to the congregation on Sunday ?

I took my Scope manuals on holiday to sort out best bandpass filters and read up on Optimaster etc, so I couldn't wait to get home to try a mix or 2 or few (sad isn't it?)

If you are a registered owner of Stylus or Atmosphere etc, the Spectrasonics website has a teaser video and competition going on. You can download some of the Omnisphere samples in Wav, Rex and something else formats.
You don't have to enter the competition to download the samples.

Eric Pershing really was the guy at Roland for a long time.

His sample libraries are some of the best around still after 12 years.

Yeah, I love SOV too.
I always find they're a bit "dirty" though in the lower frequencies. Almost always I have to filter out the bottom end rumble.

Wow! Quite a ways from the StarChaser series. Actually not that much but that beat definitely is a change for you.

This quite good but I can't help but wonder what would come out if you lengthened it a bit....

I wonder myself what it would've been like longer too - thought about putting a lead instrument and a theme to it, but in the end it was a project just to
1) Have a play with the Omnisphere patches, Stylus & Trilogy
2) Try mixing and using the effects in Scope as opposed to Cubase/Wavelab.

SO, to me the mix sounded quite crisp bar the kik drum and it was fun playing about with Stylus.

The "beat" was a sort of Kraftwerky audio loop that I converted to a rex file, dropped it into Stylus, added some effects and then dropped it on to a midi track so I could lose some notes and shuffle others about.
