That's a dada masterpiece.....
The attempt is a failure, because the really boring stuff is done without that purpose, but the contrary. Most of Celine Dion or Michael Bublé beats this one hands down.

I endured around 6 minutes of it. You could really torture people with this. Probably already do.

i could give instruments to the local non-musician kids when they are on drugs and THEN you'll hear some annoying music....
a class of 10year olds all playing "twinkle, twinkle" on recorders is way more obnoxious.
this is art! a dada masterpiece for sure!

There's more annoying things than this on the radio every day. That doesn't mean I listened to it for more than 30 seconds...

they missed out:
Ice cream van with a 20 year old tape playing the music.
Honda civic rattling to bits in time with the subwoofers beat.
most cell phone ring tones.

it seems they mixed up "annoying" with "uncommon".. seems there's really nothing annoying about this.. just some strange combinations, but the strange thing is they put it together quite musically. I can sense some one put in some effort to make this sound right. Could have been much worse. I mean, the arrangement is mediocre, but not blatently wrong. The mixing's not horrible either. And hey, they actually use a lot of live instruments, not just bad samples. That's better than a soundcanvas or the old soundblaster's wavetable.
Sounds like music from a musical.. the way it's got sort of a mish mash of a style of its own.. kind of a psychedelic, spontaneous world view.. reminds me of the world of willy wonka or wizard of oz. That sort of world view.
I guess it's a good example music and context, becuase something like this would make sense in the right context. And being such a unique piece (or pieces), a situation that calls for this kind of content probably cannot be satisfied by any other. So in that context, this piece or style would be the best. A situation that calls for such a whacky piece is actually not that hard to imagine. (as I wrote above)
Personally I don't think I hate the song.. it's got some strange parts, but overall, it makes musical sense, and some parts actually have good harmonizing. The harp + synth pad part is actually quite touching and well done. The contrast with the screaming offensive political messages is actually poetic in a way. A little annoying, but it can be taken as a strong message. Overall, I'd give it a B, for everything making musical sense, and also having some sort of cohesion in terms of meaning. I've heard much worse compositions done by musos who basically can't write music, and some of them were quite content with the results. Now that's annoying.
"Sonically annoying" would have made much more sense as something labeled "scientific" because it requires no educated interpretation of musical content. The way it is, it seems more a question of subjective taste.

I nearly cried with laughter a minute ago
No, wait...
I'm now weeping with laughter!!!
POW!
I understand your comments that this might not be the 'most annoying', but it certainly contains almost everything I find annoying about most songs that I dislike...
At least they knew that the most annoying song in the world HAD to be 19 minutes long!
