Hi Im have a MIDI problem run steinbergs soft...

at the begining the MIDI NOTES (plays for me with xp-10 roland or x5 korg keyboards) are recorded before (yes..before) that the line of the grid (example recording in 1/4 notes with click ativate and auto snap off) the latency is ok...depend the ulli settings, but the recording show before.....after any hours the notes are recorded after the line....

I tried with another midi interface (midi mate) and exist the same problem.
With Live 6.0.2 is ok
with Sonar 6 is ok
with Cubase 3.1.1 failed
with Nuendo 3.2 failed

set:
PULSAR 2 PLUS
Scope 4.5 (midi filter active)
xp sp2 (sp1 same problem)
intel core duo e6850 @ 3.00ghz (amd same problem)
2gb ram
no problem IRQ´S

Thanks!!

Just a thought Overpeak - is this anything to do with your pre-roll settings in Cubase?

(At least I think the expression is pre-roll)

Okay I see the problem clearer now - I just tried to rule out something obvious.
I'll have a think, but others know a lot more than I do.

somewhere in the advanced settings,"use system timestamp"......

i use SX3 with no problems, Scope does work properly with SX and Nuendo.

in your device setup in cubase check your input and output latency on your scope asio page, are they the same? If not you'll need to upgrade cubase, I think this was a problem with sx3 (if I remember right), get the latest version of sx3 you can and install that.

Yes input and output latency is the same!

Thanks!! Jah Servant

try the dxdraw solution:
http://www.planetz.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... +timestamp

you can try unchecking the system timestamp as well...

I've had this anticipated placement of recorded MIDI issue and it was cured by moving the "Ignoreportfilter" (or something similar) out from where it is located now in the Cubase SX directory (make a folder and put it in). This will allow all the emulated MIDI ports reappear in the Device settings of Cubase and you can chose the ones that work well. It has been previously reported here...somewhere.

Before the latest SX3 versions the ignoreportfilter was alkready put in a place where inactive and it had to be copied where it is now to work. From a certain version they decided to make it active, but it has been a mistake.

Sorry I wasn't too precise, but I'm not in the studio at the moment. I'm quite sure that this is the problem though.

the file in question is "ignoreportfilter". if this file is in the root cubase or nuendo folder, it needs to be moved to the "MIDI port enabler" folder.

for the dxdraw solution, try both enabled and disabled.

the thing about a computer is that it's a system of files. if that file structure becomes corrupt in any way, it won't work right in ways that can be surprising....

This file..."ignoreportfilter" (0kb) is only in Cubase sx3 root folder....in MIDI PORT ENABLER FOLDER....

Nuendo 3.2 (I ve install both) isn´t in PORT ENABLER FOLDER (nuendo folder) (Picture attachment above)

It´s ok

thanks Garyb again
