What does this mean?

This graph goes only up to 2007 when the barrel of oil was under 100$.

it means were been screwed without the Vaseline (which is a petroleum product ) does anybody know how much a barrel of that costs

Considering the price of a barrel of oil price increase, the average gasoline price have increased by a small amount, 60-70 cents. How does this work, I don't know and I'd like to find out.

i could play simpleton like this:
you'll notice that the price of oil has often been about the same as before all the '70s crisis stuff. gasoline however, has not. prices are set by a cabal not the market. even when the market has an effect, it's manipulated. for example, in the last 20 years most of the refining capacity has been shut down in the united states, making supply short. basic econ teaches that short supply=continued demand=rising prices. the actual memos between the big companies, shell, standard, exxon/mobil, texaco, unocal, bp and continental, were leaked a few years ago and these memos state quite clearly that there was a supply glut and shutting down the refineries would be the best way to keep prices high....

Funny how nobody even thinks to get rid of their car and live near work.

Its quite impractical for many i guess, they have been trapped in the suburbs, keeping up with the jonses SUVs and now they will be milked for all they are worth.

That's not as simple as you say..

Most people live far away from their jobs because of the rising house / land prices, specially in the areas where most jobs are concentrated.
Most people can't aford to pay $1M for 80 sq meters in downtown or at a 10 minutes walk from their jobs.
Also, even if they could, they might not want to, since these areas are mostly composed of huge buildings and no green space at all, whereas in suburbs for much less money they can have more space and comfort.

In general terms public transport is bad, and in most big cities, it's built upon a radial model.. So if you want to go from suburb A to suburb B you have to go to up to downtown, change train / bus / whatever and then go down to suburb B, taking an hour or so.. The same done with a car takes 15 minutes.
I've seen (and lived) this in many countries..

In addition, many big cities are in open war against cars because it's fashionable (and gives elector voices) to be "ecologist".. This generates an overload on the public transports in the suburbs, which don't get a penny from the "big city not wanting cars", and they become even worse than what they are. Second effect is that highways leading to the "big city" host huge traffic jams that pollute even more, because entering the "big city" is more difficult than before (and paradoxically, more people take the car because they preffer to be stuck in the traffic than taking the overcrowded / unreliable public transports).

Oil prices are just being manipulated. And so are we.

US dollar is losing value, so naturally the price of oil in USD rises. But if you're paying in Euro, there's no objective reason for the raise in price. Still, it rises.

Our petrol stations in Portugal raise the price of gas everyday, just for the sake of it. Shell, BP, Galp, Repsol, all raise their prices together and at the same time, proving this "free-market economy" is just bullsh*t. No competition, just a blood-sucking cartel.

Our government raised the tax on fuel, and it'll never bring it down, no matter how expensive petrol is, so we get screwed twice. We are now paying about 1.5 Euros per litre of gasoline, and diesel is quickly reaching the same price.

But nobody is working out a way to become more autonomous in relation to these leeches. I feel that our governments have sold out the country to the monopolists. Too bad they sold things that cannot be sold, not by them or anyone... When they come and claim ownership of the land, the water and the people, we'll just have a good laugh on their face!

And of course, the current hype on global warming and ecology is just to keep us alarmed and justify some more pollution taxes, and Carbon quotas that can be bought and sold... as money!

No one can live without the Earth, not even the dominators. If the dangers of using oil were that great, we would be seeing some real change and efforts to improve. Unfortunately, it's all about confusing and controlling our minds.

My point is: no matter how polluted the world is, it's the pollution in our minds and hearts that's causing the problems and preventing the solutions. And no government or religious personality is out there doing the work of fighting established powers and promoting true peace, liberation and consciousness. Ratz inger in ground zero? Gimme a break...

The Earth is fine (even if we are stressing it a little bit with our "power") - it's Humanity that is at risk at the hands of a few inbred morons. I have faith in Human spirit - all domination must end.

General Motors, Greyhound, Hertz, Firestone Tire, and Standard Oil bought up all the streetcar and inter city rail systems across the USA and shut them down.
giving massive bribes and other perks to the city officials who helped them along the way.

the next war won`t be because of oil. We already have the receipts to drive our machines with somewhat else - it will be about water. The same companies which produce your electricity and whe it comes to nestlé your food too, are claiming the worldwide water stocks. You won`t be able to pay even a butter bread some day. Mexico, Afgahnistan, Africa and India are just a beginning. A test balloon which is too far away for you to handle, just to make sure you'll prostitute yourself for less than a bit of money. I`m afraid you elect the wrong persons for fucking you in the ass, as well as in your company as well as in your government, as well as in your bank and even @ your car dealer and your grocery store. You`ve still got an alternative: becoming autarkic and self-sufficient.

unfortunately in the USA all the candidates are members of the CFR, a globalist organization that's part of the Royal Institute for International Affairs(Rockefellor run). it's impossible to NOT elect the wrong candidates this time around(or almost everytime).

self-sufficiency won't be allowed. obviuously you never read the UN's agenda for the 21st century. self-sufficiency's a really good idea, though. i'm all for it as much as possible. only weenies spend their time looking for an authority to make everything nice. people need to start making things nice themselves and they need to stop supporting and cooperating with nonsense.....

A fact ist that mexicans demonstrate for their food, because tortillas are in need of maize-flour...a predetermination that can`t be afforded by most people which make them jump over your so restricted fontier even in tijuana. Whites & blacks will be the minority in the USA at 2025. Totally controlled by the hispanics....and they will loose their native language.

It turns out that using corn for biofuel was a really bad idea. It is driving the price of food up and people in other countries are starving because of it. In Germany it's damaging some cars. We subsidize corn and ethanol so much. It was a poorly thought out plan. Why don't politicians consult with scientists before making such drastic decisions?

On the positive side, Germany has a factory that makes ethanol out of leaves, wood and grass. The process is top secret. I wish they would let us know how!
