I am new to this forum, been hangin around and have learned some things already.
First a big thank you to Garyb for setting me up with the scope gear.
My question is this, with the pulsar 2 and samplitude 9 pro what is the best driver to use to go into samplitude .I have pretty much got the hang of the routing window
but am having trouble getting 16 direct ins to work right.I am running the 2448 mixer and v4.5.I am also getting device conflict erors in samplitude between 16bit and 24.Or it might say unable to open creamware,rec/play device2 or something like that.I was able to record tonight by using record/playback channel 1 and it worked.
Anybody running scope with samplitude that can help with setup?
Thanks,James

I mostly use ASIO, but will also use wav for mixdown (not that it matters).
Scope is a virtual routing environment, so try hooking up the ASIO source to a mixer and ASIO dest for recording on mixer outputs, and then in Samplitude hit 'Y' key to open the system options and check to see if all the ASIO channels show up there.
I could send you a project, but it has a lot of modules that you may not have.
Maybe I could send a simpler project.
Good luck,
Greg

yes, you need to go to the audio options in sam and change the audio driver from asioMME or WDM to ASIOScope. then use the asio2 24bit source and an asio2 dest(my suggestion) or any other asio module you may prefer, the most important thing is that the source and dest modules must match! remember, you must have the proper asio modules w/ the number of channels you want to use BEFORE opening sam...
my pleasure hooking you up with the card, i hope this gets you going, and welcome to pz!

You may already know, but just to be sure: You need to double click the Asio Dest Module to set the number of channels of both Asio destination and source modules, or was it double clicking the source?
Just in case you were wondering how to change the number or channels.

asio 32 flt is perfect here with sequoia 10 ... I remember I had some trouble with Scope + sam 10 (scope was not recognized) but i re-installed and that was great ! It is better to install the seq first as scope will need to know where the Magix plugin folder is (for XTC).

Thanks for the info.Right now i have the pulsar adata and b modules for my source going to the mixer.Do i still need the asio source with 16 channells?
Greg if you can send me a sample project that would be great.Don't worry about too many modules, i can work around them.I do plan on expantion as i get this going better.I already have clients waiting to record.
Thanks.

James, Asio is for communication with software on the same computer as where the card is in, Adat is for communication to the outside world. If you want to get 16 channels out of your sequencer to an outboard mixer, you have to connect 16 asio channels to Adat A and B (with or without SFP mixer/fx in between)

yes, the asio modules ARE the JACKS for samplitude if sam's audio driver preference is set to ASIOScope.
samplitude is like a hardware multitrack recorder that is in the room that is the routing window.....

Here's a picture of my big nasty...
Used for tracking and mixing.
When I'm feeling adventurous I will even route out the Samplitude V10 mix out through Scope and back INTO Samplitude V7.23 for mixdown - similar to mixing 'outside the box'.
Basic idea is to at least start with ASIO source and dest modules plugged into a mixer, and let Samplitude see them. Should be very straightforward.
Scope and Samplitude are a very stable and reliable combination, and since you have one of Gary's machines (as I do

), then you should be very happy.
