I installed SFP 4.0 to a new directory and kept SFP3.1c in its old folder.
To cut a long story short - I've uninstalled 4.0 again.
Now when I boot my pc, 3.1c doesn't automatically start.

What file do I need to edit or copy somewhere please to get back to where I was this morning?

no file - just open the Scope preferences panel (Settings), projects tab and click the 'active' box

Thanks Tom but that was set.
When I boot the pc I then have to start Scope from my desktop shortcut.
Before, it would automatically load my startup project during the boot.

when I installed 4.0 it changed so that 4.0 automatically booted, so it must have replaced something in an autoexec or whatever. But now I've uninstalled 4.0, I have to start 3.1c manually.

Damn
My Asio Scoep driver has disappeared as well when I go into Cubase.

Now I'm annoyed!

A bit of a bump-

I want my pc to boot to 3.1c on startup.
Since I installed 4.0 it boots to 4.0 instead.
If I delete 4.0 it doesn't load Scope at all and I manually load 3.1c.
However, there is no Asio Scope driver then.

So, there must be something in a config or boot file somewhere on the pc or in the sfp4 folder that causes this.

Please help oh gurus around the world.

Looked at startup and it does point to SFP4.0 folder.
So, instead of messing with regedit, and bear in mind I'm not using 4.0 at the moment, is there any harm in copying sfp.exe from the 3.1 folder to the 4 folder?
Seems safer and easier to me and the projects will all point to 3.1 devices anyway.

neil, why do you need 2 versions? is there really an advantage to v3? v4 is pretty well established at this point....

Good question and thanks for jumping in.
My plan was/is to upgrade to 5 ultimately but from 3.1c I planned to go to 4.0, then buy 4.5.
So........... I installed 4.0. Then I realised all I had to do was to install all the Flexor versions in sequence. Then all I had to do was to copy all the extras I have in 3.1c over. Then I realised that to use my existing projects (about 15 different tracks/projects on the go) all I had to do was to swap EVERY device in the project with the ones from the SFP 4 folder because the projects include pointers to the devices. (Okay I could have kept these projects in 3.1c I know and run both versions). Then I realised that the simple little dynamixer I use in all my projects isn't available in 4.0 unless you've bought 4.5 or the mix n master pack.
So, basically I thought "sod it" for now because I fancy using all this for music and I haven't got the time at the moment to do al the other work required (mother just out of hospital, new kitchen being built etc etc).
I thought that I'd leave it for a while and just run 3.1c until I had time.

So, all I wanted to do was to have the pc boot to 3.1c not 4.0 for a while.

I agree, moving to 4.0 & 4.5 is preferable but I simply chose the wrong month to do it!

Neil, you're doing it the hard way.

just rename the v3 folder(or leave it like it is), install v4 and then copy over the device, project, presets, modular, dsp and vxd folders into the new install. for the vxd and dsp folders, copy the folders contents instead of the folders themselves and then only copy the files that aren't in the new install(when promted to overwrite a specific file just say "no"). the whole process will take less than 5 minutes and if you mess it up, you'll still have the original install intact......

I did it your way Gary as opposed to all the blurb that comes with the install zip.
Everything was fine except for Flexor and no matter how I tried with the Scope.rgy file, it simply wouldn't play.
Anyway, I copied the text strings out of the 3.1c rgy file and pasted them in and it all seems to be working now.

Must say though, it took more than 5 minutes

well, the first time is always the hardest....
