You could make the repetitive motifs more modern using delays and filters to add smoothness.. but that's just me

The expressiveness of the instruments is amazing considering the fact that you used Cubase. I sounds as if played by a real orchestra, with real players.

I actually want to stay away from effects in case I can get it performed; unlikely but I can dream. Now I am extending it. I seem to be able to do a maximum of 2 minutes per day. This piece is using 11 parts in Vienna Ensemble. It's pushing the limits of my 5 year old computer. I have some clicks and pops. They will be eliminated when I convert the individual tracks to audio tracks. They are all midi now which I like for maximum flexibility. I tried to add a tempo track at the end but Cubase didn't like that and froze. I must build a new computer this year.

Thanks so much Paul. I thought I put breaks in there but I will check it again. There are two bassoons playing offset for a delay-like feeling.

There was a bassoonist where I went to school who did circular breathing. Imagine Bach's first cello suite (all those arpeggii) played in a circular breath! Now, imagine the ugly noise coming out of the instrument because you're hearing the air going into the nose and the reeds colliding as he restarts his breathing out... Not a very good memory...
