ive been using scope for a little bit now and have just reinstalled windowsxp and scope and now im having an isssue in cubase about cpu. the meter now gets high very quickly after loading only a few vsts and after about 10-15 the meter reachs about top and highly distorts the sound-much crackling and buzzing. i was able to load many many more vsts before i reinstalled everything. my computer is pentium4 3 ghz 2gb ram. n when i chose asio multimedia instead of scope in cubase i get a lower cpu usage so im pretty sure the issue is with scope. ne ideas??

you could try checking the ULLI settings in SFP, and/or check the audio buffer size settings in your sequencer and check the latency again.
You're stressing PCI I guess:-)

i tryed switching my latency from 4ms at 44.1 to 7ms and that helped a bit, still not anywhere near the performance i used to have though. im having trouble finding buffer size settings. im working in cubase sx3, and what should i set it to?thanks

Scope OS? 3.1, 4.0 or 4.5?

if you don't bother about the latency (i.e. because you're just just mixing), you can choose the longest latency in Scope settings.
In Cubase for buffersize, go to Device Setup, and choose VST Audiobay.
I have no idea why your new system reacts poorly tho, and I'm on mac :-)
also check priority settings in XP, and check (again?) unwanted IRQ sharing.

sorry for late reaction, I was out of e-reach.

and deactive any background/startup programs you dont need. and do the windows tweak found somewhere here on planetz..

good luck!

If it's the Cubase "CPU-meter" you talk about, it could be HD access related.

hey everyone well i tried many different things tweaks, check hd,....almost everything u guys listed with no luck. 2 things i think it could be is the irq sharing, i checked and on my creamware card there is no sharing but there are about 4 other devices sharing my pci express graphics card. anyone think this could be the issue? reguarding buffersize which is still a major possiblity i cant find buffersize in cubase. under device setup>vst audiobay i see master ASIO Driver, under is input and output latency, release ASIO in background and direct monitoring and expert tab, where there is audio priority preload amount, and record placement offset tabs and lower latency, multiprocessing, and adjust for record latency boxs.no buffersize
thnxs again

ok, obviously on mac OS9 the audio buffer size is located inside Cubase, I can't tell you if Windows has a similar function on OS level.
sorry :-)
