No signal from RME/hammefall to Luna/Scope via Adat B

Hi!

Foregive med if this is a newbie question, but I have tried so hard, so before I give up, I thought I'd ask for help here.

See I am using to computers: One PC with Luna/Scope and one laptop with RME/Hammerfall DSP - both systems run win/XP with plenty of power and RAM. I use Sonar on the Luna/scope system an I want to control sound/samples on the RME via Midi and send the sound back to Luna/Scope for mixing. For Mic/guitar line input i use an Alesis Adat A/D converter and route this to the Lune/Scope Adat A - this latter works fine.

But when I route the sounds from RME to Luna/Scope via Adat B I get no signal in Luna/Scope. Hovever I am able to send signal the opposite way, e.g. from Luna/Scope to RME via Adat B and I am also able to send signal from Luna/scope to RME via SP/dif, but I want to free this "port" for external effect.

I have tried "everything" and all possible tweaking, but with no result. I don't know what I am overlooking or there is some hardwareissue here...

Any help is appreciated, though I expect this to be a hard one!

Sorry - one correction in the above question:

"I am able to send signal the opposite way, e.g. from Luna/Scope to RME via ADAT B and I am also able to send signal from RME to Luna/scope via SP/dif, but I want to free this "port" for external effect."

Can you post 2 pictures 1. drawing of your setup.and 2. screenshot of your routing window.I don't quite see how they're synced to each other.

thanks.

Do you have spdif set to optical instead of electrical (ie, spdif is trying to use adat)?

Sorry I was a newbie!!!

And as you may add: RTFM (read the f.... manual)

I had not made the appropriate routing in the RME TotalMIx: Now playback device 1+2 are routed to ADAT 1+2 - how hard can it be...

Thanks for your support and time!

Totalmix can be confusing until you realize that software outputs can be routed to any hardware output. Hitting "X" helps reveal this a little. Also when a hardware output is assigned, and you select the available hardware outputs in the dropdown underneath the software output (this wording is awful), you'll notice that any assigned get a checkbox...
