by contrast, parts of sweden didn't have winter at all this year.
(by definition: winter = at least 5 days in a row below 0°C)

edit: piddi, you were faster ;)

Athens was covered in snow a couple of days ago as well, so i guess its the clothing companies renting the infamous weather-gun to expand their customer-base.

A lot of snow where I'm at (New Brunswick, Canada), but much warmer than last winter. Ironically I'm in a much better insulated house this year. Last winter there were long cold snaps where it was -30 for weeks on end, but this winter has been MUCH milder. I don't know if it makes sense to call this 'Local Warming' because I'd have to look at stats going back further, but at least it's warmer this winter, thank zutes.

SO?

we've been in a mini ice age(1600's to 18000's). the earth's average temperature historically has been higher than present. so what if it is getting warmer, or colder? suckers.

all i said was "coldest winter in 20-100years depending on where you are at". it's a fact. we don't need to interpret it.

Heh. garyb could you post some of your favorite anti-global warming links? Sounds like you're all read up and you have your mind made up. I'm split 50/50 on the matter and would like to read more up on your side of the story.

follow the money.
que bouno.

i don't deny it's getting warmer, i get tired of pointing out that there was an ice age just a few hundred years ago(1700s). why does anyone thing that this is the normal temperature? if you look at the earth's history, climate is always in a constant state of flux, depending most on solar activity.....

you don't need the internet to understand that the climate changes radically with or without people.

Earth will soon be much warmer anyway.
The real challenge of the human race now is how do we manage to protect all the millions who happen to live in the danger areas (low lands and dry areas).
It will be the century of the Great World Wide Movements of People.
We need good democraticly controlled gouvernments and intergouvernmental organisations, and in particular an independent and selfconscious press.
Globalization on it's best, but I'm not optimistic.

Haahahahahahahahahha

Yup with the absolutley, definaltey, would I lie to you, guaranteed impending threat of extinction for everything on the planet, because of us all powerful god-like men in our SUVs, it just seems obvious to me that what we need is a world state to sort it all out and look after us. We definatley need to look to our government as some kind of older sibling, maybe like a big brother. Then evrything'll be just fine

Heheheehehehehe

Oh yeh and remember kids 'Elvis didnt do no drugs'

 no problem! changes in the gulf stream and deforestation really change weather patterns as well. lots of things are happening with the weather including direct manipulation of local events(cloud seeding, haarp and other antenna grids, etc.)

just an interesting factiod....snow in Saudi Arabia, coldest winter in 100years in China and warm weather in Norseworld and Germany.....

Scandinavia was rather warm in the middle ages, no? in fact, it's the change in weather that forced the Viking period they tell me....perhaps your country is returning to the Glory Days!
