I Am So Disappointed.

Hello,

I feel the need to share my total disapointment with you in the hope that someone out there can say something that will make me feel better and help me move on.

Yesterday I was at my local music shop and bought an AXON AX 50 happy that it finally arrived after a long wait. However, just before me, an elderly guy was buying a secong hand Scope card with 15 DSPs for the meagre sum of 175 Euros. Bargain of the century!!!! To make matters worse, it had been sitting around the shop for ages and I never saw it or I would have snapped it up. The owner was getting rid of old stock. I offered twice what he paid for it, but he didn't accept. My only hope is that he said he would sell it to me if he didn't like it. He didn't seem to know much about it and I hope that he will find it too confusing to get his head around it ( I found it confusing at first) and in frustration offer it to me. The trouble is, I was begging and praising Scope so much that he will probably hold on to it or take advantage of my desire to have it so badly.

I can't stop thinking about how I missed out on an absolute bargain.

Devaluation.
I see what you mean Stardust and in a way, it's sure that scope devaluates over the time, but this deal was a real bargain compared to today's real market value !!!

I got some incredibly cheap deal when I worked in music shops ! A CP70 from a travelling musician just wanting to go back travelling to India (500$). A suitcase Rhodes for 250$, an MS20 + MS50 + SQ10 + VC10 Korg in Martinique for 600$ (when the prices were high in the sky in Europe because of the techno market).. A TX816 for 400$ in Australia...etc
Sometimes the location of the good (a shop where the holder doesn't know shit.. , a remote place where local value is relative), the story of the seller, the luck (being there on time..) and the cash in your pocket can lead to sore dick deals as Jimmy would say :-)

I feel your pain AstralFridgeMagnet but hey, another opportunity might come one day... and you're 175€ richer now ! :D

actual ebay price: EUR 455,00

But hey...it's 10 years old technology - so what do you expect? Try selling a vw rabbit which is 10 years old. ;) it is still not bad, but people always want to have new things when it comes to technology ;)
