if this is serious and not a mony trap, it shows that modern people don't realize we're in a representive democracy.

I know there's a much stronger relationship in the States between a politicion and his home country compared with Europeon democracies, yet in Holland also there's a tendency to have the politicions fulfill the direct wishes of the cityzens.
Wasn't there a huge gap between The Hague and the people in the street?
Pim Fortuyn was murdered after all...

I would hold my breath when governing by referendum (a topic for years here, especially after the Europe referendum) would get to be a regular tool for decision making.
