Hi,

my computer freezes while using Creamware Scope together with CubaseSX3.

Randomly it freezes completely and plays a short loop of sound. Like a mashine gun or strange bassdrum.

I figured that it must have something to do with midi in Cubase.
When I do not use Midi in Cubase there are no problems, even when I use Midi-IO inside scope project (e.g. for hardware controller).
I recorded a Drums-Bass-Guitar-Band not even a single problem.
But when I work on a project with MIDI and Battery Dumsampler it freezes nealy every 30min.

Motherboard is a P8P400 SE
Scope 14DSP in slot 3
Pulsar II 6 DSP in slot 4
Matrox PCI Express Graphic Card
Win XP home with ACPI
Scope 4.0 Software
Cubase SX3

I read in this forum that many others had the same problem. But I could found a final solution.

did you use a midi monitor to check for active sensing?

I checked this with scope Midi monitor. No active sensing. Only note on/off like expected. Notmidi thru as far as I could see.

The strange thing is that it took some time (aprox an hour) until the first crash and then nealy every 20-30min. At first I thought it was a temperatur issue, but I let my case open: no difference.

well i doubt that the case being open would make any difference... this REALLY sounds like a tempature issue to me.
I would download a free pc health monitoring software ( do a search on google) and wathc the temperature closely. Leave the pc on for an hour, make music as you normally do, but keep an eye on the thermometer...

This could be caused by a cpu overheating or graphicscard overheating.. you might not be able to monitor the temp. for your graphics card, so if all fails, put in some old card you have lying around, and leave the pc on for an hour and se if it still shuts down..
