I'm trying to record an audiotrack in CubaseSX (ie. audio from a microphone) meanwhile the other tracks are playing some VST intruments. The problem that occurs for the audiotrack is that the audio from the VSTi tracks will be recorded too, which wasn't the intention. The recorded audiotrack should just include the sound from my microphone.

If I click on the Monitor-button in Cubase for the audiotrack I will get some acoustic feedback.

I assume that the problem originate from my setup in Scope rather than the setup in CubaseSX.

Does there exist some useful project-files other than the examples that comes with the installation ? I have a very common setup so I assume that it shouldn't be any big problem to set up a simple project that can handle audio and asio.

Btw, I'm using a Pulsar 2 (Scope 4.0) and Cubase SX (v.1)

Unfortunally I'm not that experienced with the Scope-platform yet, so I wonder if you could draw a picture (or publish a screenshot) or explain a little bit further how I shall setup the project ?

I only have the stereoinput on the Pulsar2-card that I would like to record to an audiotrack (no external stuff).

I followed you last instruction and it works.

Inside the mixer I routed channel 5 to bus1+2.

Actually I don't really understand what I've done, but it works and that is the most important thing. The reason why I failed before was that I expected that the ASIO source should be connected to the ASIO Destination, the Wave Source with the wave destination, etc

Thanks for explaining that. Now it all makes sense.

There's actually another way to do it, just in case you need:

- go to the master panel of your 2496, click on the option buttons and check "direct outs"

- now in the routing window you'll find the direct outputs of each channel, and that's really useful for multitrack recording of a lot of different channels at one time.
