I posted this a long time ago but it has since been extended, remixed and mastered.

Wow!
I'm not sure if I dig the buzz sound in the beginning (sounds like an 8 bit synthesized noise) but that might be because I don't quite get (I have couple of guesses) what kind of vortex this song is about. Although it creates an amazingly striking contrast between the next segment of the song. Awesome!
Can you talk a little bit about the song and what inspired you to create it (what it symbolises etc)?
Otherwise I'm simply speechless! Unbelievable emotional punch!
Edit: Maybe you could extend a little more the ominous intro chord for even a stronger change of pace effect.
It reminds me of Baraka.

Yes I should have extended it. Too late now but maybe in the future. The Vortex 900 is the name of the synthesizer I used. Here is a photo of it:

The sound is a bit annoying for some but this is how I feel and it is a reaction to the industry and how it ruined the majority of all music by making it over-produced.
I could ramble on a lot more about this. I don't like reading very long posts so I will not make one myself.

interesting radioshack equipment. maybe I'd go check one out myself.. btw, did you record all the hits and percussions?
It's cool because in the first half, the vortex 9000 is featured as the main instrument, and is performed as such. And it's actually convincing.
Couldn't really understand the transition to rain to the almost deathly low rumble (solitude? despair?)

Kensuguro,
You should get one. It's only $60.
The drums are StormDrums using the loop player. It automatically makes all the loops the same tempo. I think I used single hit StormDrums samples too but I don't remember because it was a long time ago.
The rain was recorded on my back porch with the M-Audio Microtrack. I don't know why I do things. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I also get opposite opinions from different people about what they liked or didn't like which is frustrating to me.

well, different people say different things on different days, different direction of the wind.. seems the only thing you can be sure of, is what you want to at that moment.
