What The Hell Is Re-Wire Application ??

I thought I had the perfect rig set up. I ran the shit out of Scope all weekend, only shut it off 2 times when I went upstairs everynight.

Everything was fine when I shut it down Sunday at 2:00am. Went to my gig and played. ( suck ass shit ) Then raced home to continue my quest, and just loaded Scope so I could play with new toys. But when I went back to Bidule to load it, a pop up appeared and said I had another re-wire app running, and it won't allow me to load GVI, etc., and crashed after that. Naturally Scope runs fine. So I shut down Scope, and thought I would load Bidule to see what happens, and the same message appears ?? I am not running another app at all. But I have 2 shortcuts for Cubase 4, and Sonar.

I have no idea what re wire is, and have no need for it.

How can I get Plogue to load up? I just recieved my origanal copies of Sonic Implants Symphonic Strings, and wish to load it and convert it to GVI. It was being used by the Hussies, as it is the best sounding symphonic Library I have heard, and I now can load it into GVI. But I can't even get Bidule to load in standalone as this re wire window keeps popping up.

To top it off, I can't even shut down my computer !! It won't let me. This is very precarious.

And Yes, I would like some cheese and crackers with my WHINE !!

was sonar open at the same time when the first crash happened?

anyway, you can try reloading the GVI plugin. it's possible that you chose from the rewire menu and not the vsti menu, although i doubt it. FIRST, however, go to EDIT and choose "Clear ReWire Mode status". hopefully, that'll help.

ReWire is cool. It let me run Nuendo with Ableton as a rewire application with all the single channels in the Nuendo mixer that come out of Ableton.

Loop thingies with ableton, right into Nuendo and finally into scope.
In this case Nuendo is the ReWire master and Ableton is slave, the master has to be loaded first then you open Ableton or an other ReWire application.
Maybe in this master slave thing the error went in and all applications need to be reseted.

I guess resetting all applications like Gary suggested would solve the problem.

I cannot even open Bidule to go to edit. I have sent the log to sebastien at Plogue.

Funny how Scope just goes on as usual, and these other apps always were released, and fixed as they went along. Did Creamware act like this back in '99 ? I am curious.

It bothers me that one day everyhting works fine, then all of a sudden a stupid message like this appears, when I have never even opened up Sonar or Cubase, as this is the standalone version.

Sebastien responded, but mentioned nothing about the Bidule.logs I sent him, but he is on vacation. I am confident he will see the log and know what to do.

In my next life, I wish to be French, or live in France. That way I could have several vacations a year. I am envious as everytime I turn around someone in France has gone skiing, or to St.Tropez, or Switzerland. The benefits of socialism look better evry day. Maybe I'll vote for Hillary so I can save 14,000 USD on medial / dental bills every year. Let's see, how many DSP's for......................forgeddabowdit.

I am using the Gigastudio 3 DAW for rehersal next week, so it isn't crucial yet. But Ableton is starting to look better every day also. Maybe it's time for Brainspawn Forte. Must I spend thousands more to find a good VST app.?
Is AU the same shit as well? I am starting to wonder about Scope / GS3 and hardware only, as I never had a problem until I started moving away from my hardware sequencer and Alesis 24/96 HDD Multitracker.

I cannot imagine going to a gig and all of a sudden one night be stunned by this shit. Thank God I have nothing on the books for another week, or I would be fucked.

Scope and Giga worked flawlessly since I have had them built. This VST shit might not be meant for live work afterall. Thank God for the GS3 DAW, as I was planning on practicing my Rhodes wurly chops with 2 different wah-wah's.

Chance Favors The Prepared Mind, and back up DAW as well.
