Until recently I've not had that much need of the synths in Pulsar because we have plenty (of synths) at work. The other day I brought my system home and decided to see how much I could do on it alone, and ran into an interesting quirk.
Several of the synths don't play properly. When set to 1 voice it appears as if they're not playing at all - even though they're registering midi input. However, when I turn the gain on the synth channel up I can hear a slight pop.
If I set the synth to 2 voices and play a 2 note chord, I hear one of the voices.
If I set the synth to 4 voices and play a four note chord, I hear 3 voices.
It reminds me of the old days when polyphonic synths used a separate voice circuit for each note. When a filter on a single voice went south you'd get a hole in any chord you played. I know people are trying to emulate analog synths here, but this is a bit beyond the pail!
According to the 'about' window, I'm running V2.1 on the Pulsar 2 card.
Any ideas?
