Hi forum
i've some stuff sampled by me on a mithic 1100 and stored on floppy disks; since pulsar read akai samples, i'd like to use that sounds with sample players but i haven't found a way to perform conversion (i.e.: .s and .p on my hard disk). With adisk i'm able only to convert samples to wave format (loosing all programs) or to dump raw data, isn't it?
Any suggestion?
Thanx

Welcome giucant,
it is like you found out. As .wav information is gone for the programs. You can use one of the STSX000 (X=3,4,5) samplers. These can read .p and .s in the format S1000 and S3000. The best one, the STS5000 only comes with Scope SP (has excellent pitchshifter), so most of us use STS4000. Well... not really a bargain.

But ok.
Happy pulsaring
Micha

Ok
When, thanx to pulsar, i'll become a famous producer (1 year yet?:-)) i'll buy some expensive stuff, but now my problem is: i want to read my akai floppies with pulsar sample player in original forma .s e .p(like akai cds). Is it possible?

Guess it should be possible, but I don't know for sure. Do't even know the difference between .p and.s samples.
One way to try is to insert the floppy in your pc, start Pulsar environment, and go to a: in the navigation bar on the right side of the screen. Your sample program should appear here (unless the filter setting doesn't allow it), and I guess it should be possible to grab and drag it to the sample player.
Hope it works for you !
If it does, you can copy the sample to your harddrive (also inside the pulsar environment) for easier access.
Happy pulsating !

*.p is an AK1000 program - it contains parameters (ie. key zone, envelopes, etc). *.s is a sample, or sound file. *.p reference *.s - hope that helps a bit - if there are *.s and *.p on your AKAI discs, I think you would need to convert them because I do not think Pulsar will read AKAI from floppy like it does from CD - you would most likely need to make an *.iso, burn to disk (cdr), and then read from there. Alternatively, just copy all of the damn samples to disc and burn it all in one go - the only problem is getting Windoze to read the AKAI disc because they are not formatted . . . and good luck on that, as I have no help to offer . . .

thanx guys...
pulsar doesn't read akai floppy directly, but the suggestion of burning on a cd iso image of floppy could be right: is there some floppy to iso raw dump utility? (like teledisk but with understandable format...)
Akaibat convert sample to wave...i don't want this...i've spend weeks to make that program on 1100...

cdrwin is a great program - you have much more control than with easy cd creator or similar - i use cdrwin for all of my cd burns, including akai s1000 -
the program is shareware, the limitation being that you are limited to 1x burn speed. it is only $30 to register, and i recommend doing so.

Hi
Akaidisk help says:
" ADISK /RS "SINE" SINE.AKI
Reads the Akai sample called SINE to a file without decoding to .WAV format, but leaving the data in Akai format. This also works for other file types (eg. /RP for Programs, /RQ for Q-Lists) but these files will need to be decoded before your PC can understand them (you may find the MIDI SysEx documentation of your sampler useful here). "
But this seems doesn't work on my windoz me machine...
How can i use adisk to convert floppy programs into pulsar .s and .p, if this feature is supported? Maybe someone has a total-resolutor batch file...

Did you check out the other utility on my link? The one that say's "S1000 Program maker for Creamware Pulsar". Isn't this what you need, or have I misunderstood what you are trying to do.
