Cubase -> Scope -> 01v96

Hi,
I have just been having major problems for months, I just can’t seem to be getting it 100% correct connected, not even 75% to what I would want. I always have to connect, unconnect on the hot with Cubase in order to at least get it to record something.
Ok let me begin:
I have a VST instrument that is using a stereo ASIO2 with in Cubase then on Scope I route that particular source to my ADAT port in order to connect it to my external mixer and use it with one of my faders. During normal playback I seem to hear all my internal and external instruments just fine, all fully controllable with my external mixers faders. The problem starts when I need to bounce my mix down inside Cubase that the real problems start. Once I hit to record the VST instrument stops from emitting audio but records nevertheless, as for the rest of the of the external instruments, I hear them on my monitors but do not record!
Another persistent problem is that if I get to hear all the instruments while recording all I get is feedback inside the Cubase mixing environment. The external mixer is fine, it’s only when I make my connections inside Cubase, that’s when I get horrible audio like the same channels being played over each other.
Here is the routing that I use:
VST -> ASIO2 Source (1-LR)-> Scope ADAT Destination->01v96 ADAT IN -> main mix with the rest of the external instruments -> 01v96 ADAT OUT -> Scope ADAT Source -> ASIO2 Destination -> Cubase Main IN.
I think the problem lies within Cubase mixing and routing. It would be very helpful in some insight to what seems to be the problem I am doing, and would appreciate a project file for Scope or Cubase that will shed light into the routing.
Thanks.
