Happy 4th Of July From Tahoe




I can't wait to get back and get Flexor III, COSM, etc. I am suffering w/o Scope, but it is amazing when one wishes to jam, where there is a will, there's a way. My sons cheezy Yamaha synth w/ speakers has a few bearable presets, and he got a new BC Rich Warlock. He did not grasp on the Scope thing yet, so the guitar will have to do. I never jammed w/ 3 11 year olds b4, it does require patience. It ain't so bad, I always liked Ozzy, and Deep Purple anyway.

That's what's so cool, these kids are not affected by MTV and all of it's worthless content. They think it's comedy, but when it comes to music, I am shocked that the choices they make are the exact ones I saw live as a kid, and loved as well.

Funny thing though, California with all of it's Soviet style laws and rules, always has the fires ?? In Nevada we can shoot fireworks, guns, make campfires, etc. And in the 25 years I have lived in Tahoe, and Vegas, I have never seen one fire on the Nevada side. Go Figure. Maybe too many laws make people nervous, and negligent ??

I love Lake Tahoe so much, someday I shall do her justice and compose a Suite consisting of synth works devoted to Chimney Beach, and Emerald Bay. Until that day I shall keep taking my family there to enjoy it's breathtaking beauty, and splendor. Alpine lakes from snowmelted mountains are the best gift from our creators whoever they are.

yes, bizarre. it's disgusting and happening everywhere. the worst part is that people are denying it vehemently. the policemen and "officials" acting that way should be ashamed.

You should move to the last bastion of good old wild west freedom my friend. Even the rangers and police party w/ us to some degree. We can drink alcohol publicly / responsibly, have outdoor bar-b-que's, play music , swim, raise our children w/o someone telling us what's best for us, etc.

Whenever I leave Nevada in any direction or border, w/ the exception of Wyoming to the north, I get angry within the first hour. The federal government seems to put all of it's top secret installations here, including the daily flights from McCarran airport to Area 51's huge underground facility, but they know better than to try and tell Nevadans how to live. Maybe because prostitution and guns are still legal here, it creates a state of balance, and I am quite sure many high dollar prostitutes have frequented the Yucca Mountain facility, as the workers are not allowed to leave for great lengths of time, so some good old fashioned Nevada hospitality is extended.

Warning though, many who visit here, never leave.

The " Disney " folks have only taken the festivities off of the strip w/ all of their " family " orientated values. I say let's bring back the Mafia !! Everybody made so much more money then. When I did my brief lounge gig in '84 I put together a 3 piece group using the QX-1, and TX816, and of course an Ensoniq Mirage, Emulator III,Oberheim Dpx x 3, and the gigantic Moog Lab Series amp Rick Wakeman left @ Ye Old Music Shoppe ( Bob Heil ). All of the Entertainment directors were wise guys, or Star Search judges, and they had endless budgets for their groups. Well naturally I took our large breasted singer and let her do my bidding, as I understand too well the " entertainment " value which she possessed. We made 965 USD per player for two years till I went with Steve Morse as I grew weary of the Las Vegas scene.

That was in 1985 !! 20 years later I could only make that as a contractor who would take the largest share, and stiff everyone else. Since I refuse to play with unmotivated people, or guys who spend no money on their sound, I would split the money evenly and barely took home 800 USD per week. That's what marketing people concluded, so that's why I play the local casinos like the Rio, or the Palms where Gwen Stefani, Prince, and other local stars play and dwell. The strip is full of bull shit bands, and bull shit gigs. Just Google the Palms, or the Rio, and you will see where the locals play these days. The strip is for Cheese balls, and those Holiday Inn type bands where everyone wears a cheap white suit and sucks major cock as players.

Only the showrooms on the strip provide quality theater and musical productions. I did a gig back in April on the strip in a lounge and was shocked as I was told no stage monitors ?? WTF ?? I was forced to send 2 x stereo outs to a main board that was run by a security guard (* sound Cop ). And he even whined about why we used so many I/O's !!! I did sell myself for the right price of 900 USD, which was pushing the matter, but I was the player who put this group together and knew the music well. I did demand to see the contract, as I didn't believe the contractor. but was shocked to see that the agency took 15%, then the Entertainment Director offered 22 weeks @ a thieving 10% commission !! Hell the wise guys carried the pay in their deep pockets and had no need to steal from us, this guy already has a salary and still feels he is entitled to more tax free bonuses. I was shocked that the " family values " corporate folks are greedier than anyone I ever worked for. I felt sorry for the guy and covered his lame ass keyboard player for a week, as it was ELP, Yes, and many good old keyboard solos to play.

The real scene is off the strip at the Station, Coast, and privately owned casinos in the valley. Everynight is a party. My next gig is in August at an outdoor festival w/ 3 Dog Night. then off to the Playboy Club. As the Brothas in Vegas say about the Palms and the Playboy Club,.........................I be walkin' round with wood, and the pay is too good.

I shall post some pics of the real Vegas nightlife as I did a year ago when I played at the private club where the little sluts dwelled. That's the freedom I love also. Of course I can't take my boy, or my bitches there, cause that's where all of the action is. Stay tuned !!

BTW I am enjoying the fireworks that start at the north end of the lake, and take turns going from township to township for three hours around the whole lake. I shall think of all of the poor people of the world while I feast on steaks and seafood that I am cooking also. I hope that this doesn't spur on any more conflicts, but if it does, let them come to Nevada. Maybe then they will realise that they too can live free and work hard, or they can go to California and mooch off of the government there. When " Organized Crime " was run out of Nevada, everything got worse.

Dealers and Wait-tail Cocktresses, sorry, Cocktail waitresses ( Fruedian Slip ) could no longer keep their own tips, but rather shared them in an equal split. The result was no more beautiful dealers and waitresses, no more show-offs with fancy behind the back Pele ( the soccer God from Brazil ) type tricks, and censorship of everything, just so everyone could be equal !! Great now we have quiet, unmotivated, downright homely lookin' bitches who hate their jobs as the money sucks now. Brilliant example of a socialistic response to a successfull capitalistic venture. In the " mob " days there was absolutely total freedom and no censorship. That way nature could take it's course as it always seems to balance itself out anyway. For example a fat ugly girl use to curse and swear at customers in order to steal the attention away from the more blessed women, and she learned to use what she had to succeed, it was hilarious, as we use to love watching her tell people to kiss my ass, or fuck off, or throw the cards at the players and say you suck. We howled, and she made a fortune as she was forced to be creative as opposed to equal.

Hell, I love to watch the World Cup Soccer matches ( Viva Italia 2007 !! ), but my God, they are not equal, let's change that so no one gets their feelings hurt, and call the games off as soon as they are tied, then eveyone can be equal , and we will all be happy together !!! Yeah right.

If I started playing lounges again, the people who have the capital to pay me for my talents would say, hey, Jimmy's playing the lounge at the Aladdin for 700 USD a week. Well the only Organized Crime that's left in Nevada is on channel 2 everyday where the legislators public forum is held in a CSpan type forum.

Our Mayor is none other than the infamous Mafia lawyer Oscar Goodman, who has been Mayor now for 8 years and re developed the old downtown area to attract more businesses and tourists, it's worked as that crack infested neighborhood has been re located, and the police have been forced to actually do their job of keeping the hard core criminals at bay and on the run.


The first thing he did when he took office was to split the police force into two departments, Clark County Sheriffs, and the Metro. That was a bold move but the police were becoming a source of revenue for themselves, and the citizens were outraged at the shootings of so many citizens, and beatings that were occuring, not to mention the East Coast, West Coast rappers battleground ( Tupac ).

Since this wise guy became Mayor I have noticed the Police no longer send out petitions for salary increases, only to find it voted down for 20 years. Upon learning their defeat, they would scurry around with random traffic stops, and the intrusion of privacy was out of control. This has stopped. The only reason I got my DUI a while back was I was winking at the chick cop as she was quite fine, which turned out to be a fatal mistake. She was a giant of a woman with an attitude, but that's what Jagermeister' effects can have I suppose. Eric Goodman, the Mayors son was my lawyer, so for a fee of 2000 bucks, it was all forgotten. The judge asked me if I wanted to go to Drunk driving school to keep a clean record, I thanked him and agreed, but said I already know how to drive drunk your honor. He failed to see my humor.
