cannot install scope software

I have a new mobo, and matching components. [

went to install the scope SFP 4.0 (had a copy already & downloaded a copy as well). The first time I ran setup it got to the 'your drivers are not installed' bit, so I pointed it to the drivers and that went fine. then the obligatory restart.

here is the kicker.

I ran setup after the restart and it crashed.
Before getting to the keys, or anything.
Not even the pulsar cursor or GUI.

WTF?

So... I sent a message to the creamware support void, and am now sending a message to the community.

I have attached the crash report, which is an XML and does not seem to have ANY valuable information as to WHY the setup.exe crashed.

SO, please, for the love of science..... has anyone else seen this, and what can I possibly do?

no, that stuff won't help.

likely there's alreay a scope folder started on the c: drive. delte it if it's there. where are you running the installer from? is this a new windows install?

the windows installation exists on drive E:

would that be causing this crash?

how do I change the drive letter of a windows boot drive???
it automatically picked E:

really? which drive is C: ?

disk management is in control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management, but just changing the drive letter would, as a pz member like to call himself, reek havock.

is this a completely new install?
if so, maybe it would be a good idea to just start over. there likely isn't much to back up, so it should be relatively painless. that should also fix any possible problems and save a lot of time. delete all the partitions and repartition. just remember, if you have any other hard drives with active partitions connected when you ifrst partition your boot drive, you'll end up with a similar result, so disconnect any storage drives before repartitioning the boot drive(with the windows install disk as part of the windows installation process).

Resolution :

When I reformatted and installed windows on the first partition of the disk it came up as C:
I then tried to install the scope SFP 4.0 software and worked perfectly.

Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate being able to use my pulsar again.

How did I get windows on E: in the first place?
I installed Linux on the first partition, then installed windows second.
