big thanks to Sharc for sending me this one, I would have been gutted to have missed it.

excellent synth, I can see it becoming integral in my productions, I have mainly been using it to make electro noises and dodgy nintendo s&h noises but have also made some really nice leads and basses, so simple to use as well.

I have not got access to a cat for comparrison but nor do I care as this synth is brilliant in it's own right.

thanks alot guys.

cheers

To clarify what's going on with C4T - At the moment it looks like the next version is going to have some preset compatibility issues with v0.4b. As I said in the previous page of this thread, please just PM me your email address if you'd like to try out the current version (v0.4b).

I couldn't agree more. Spam is a huge spanner in the works of interweb culture as a whole. Aart contacted me yesterday via PM, like i'd suggested, to show his interest in the C4T, but was reluctant to give me an email address to send it to. It seems that trust issues may be a problem with this set-up, so I'm currently working on an alternative solution.

In the meantime I'm surprised Aart, that you've given your email address for all to see on the forum. Like Stardust says, it's best to try and avoid the spammers. Your address at addicts[dot]nl doesn't seem to be working for me though.

EDIT:

You can download C4T v0.4b here

sharc wrote:Hello,

Shroomz and I are proud to present you with a sneaky peek at our first Scope synth - The C4T Monosynth. It's based on our Octave CAT which is one of my favourite monosynths. At the moment it's still an early beta and we plan on adding several new features as well as a few more tweaks here and there to get an even closer representation of the original.

Image

update - latest version (v0.4) with presets added available to download.

Other new features :-

1. GUI update
2. Added poly mode (kind of :P )
3. Smoothed midi control of VCF

Poly mode still needs some work. Like the original CAT, it allows for duophonic playing by sending the high notes to VCO1 and low notes to VCO2. I have been having some trouble in getting the key split to update as I would like though. It is stable but it has a funny logic to it as it responds differently depending on the order you play the low & high notes. It would be OK for programming from a sequencer at the moment, but it would certainly take some practice to be played live. The synth should however work as before when MONO mode is selected. All the same, please let me know if you notice anything wrong. :)

NOTE: The C4T being a monosynth only requires 1 voice (even in poly mode) Setting the voice count to higher than one will only eat up DSP.

Have fun :D

regards,
sharc

update - 31/05/07 C4T v0.4b available to download.

- Fixed program change bug.

This synth is the dope — thankyou for it!

I've been using it in XTC recently (it remembers settings!) for a demo track I'm doing for a sample library company, and it really hits the spot — I'm close to finishing, so I'll pop an MP3 in the Audio section, hopefully tonight.

Cheers!

Look forward to hearing it Chris :)

I haven't tried it myself in XTC mode so it's good to know that it works.

Hi Sharc!

The tune is in the Music section, under a thread called 'Please ignore this track'.

(Have you ever sat in an aeroplane right at the front of the cabin, where you end up being right next to a big, shiny, inviting red button that has a sign next to it saying 'DO NOT PRESS'? And do you remember *really* wanting to press that button, simply because of the sign that told you not to? Well, there you go!)

Adios dudes,

Chris "I'm twatted on MDMA" Korff.

Peace!

Yes, the C4T is one of the devices I've spent a lot of time on lately. It's sounding good, but not quite there yet. Can't give you any more details than that for the moment though.

Good to hear you're still looking after this very good device.
One of the best synth freebies of the scope platform (along John Bowen's one).
Great great great.... :)
