I use Cubase SX3.
anyone knows how to make a midi track instantly forwarding midi ('monitor') just by selecting it?
Can't find it in the preferences or anywhere else.
Wanne have that little speaker button jump on 'on' when selecting a track...

must be something stupid I'm missing

GuruB, if I do that, every other channel that I activate gets in record mode also.
Have to check for that.
Valis, why don't you make my life easier instead of more complicated?

Keybinds is shortcuts?
I guess I just should use the speaker icon then to swich from channel, but I'd prefer to see the channel also switching.
Old habits, lost goodies or remote places to help involved.

Watch out or you'll wind up wanting a Mackie Control to use with Cubase. Or better yet a Mbox64 in MC mode

thanks for the warning

Still I find it strange that I have to click on at least two buttons to change midi out routing of what I'm playing on external keys: one time for deactivating the last one, and one for activating the new one.
And then you still have another track 'active' than the track you use for forwarding the midi out.
Why can't I swap the whole thing just by clicking on the track selection area?
Weird.
