Sherry And The Anus

I don't know if my fellow Pulsarians get this show on the tube, but if you have a kid from the age of 9 - 12, you should sit w/ them and watch this show. I know I suffer from immaturity, but I don't care. Me and my son laughed for 30 minutes as we watched this insane show. We were actually hitting each other from laughing too hard.
WJ and me had fun w/ my son during his spring break, and he will fly to Tahoe on my way to work tonight. But we had a great time and laughed and played keyboards, rollerblades, PS3, PSP, etc. No wonder I am a 50 year old kid.
@ any rate the show had the little skits of Sherry and The Anus that made me practically vomit. Sherry is in love with Anus, and yes Anus is just a but ! How brilliant . But the hidden sights, and ambiguous lines are so hilarious, it's a must see. For example, Sherry is carrying Anus down the steps, and behind them on the wall are his baby pictures. It's a shot of him w/ a baby bottle sticking out of his crack. OMG, we laughed till we cried.
So if you want to howl w/ your kids, you gotta check this out. It's sick.

I see you have a serious interest in your son's education and future.
You should play this song to your son (you may listen too):
Television, Drug of the Free
by Disposable Heroes of Hipocrisy (Michael Franti, 1991)
One nation under god has turned into
one nation under the influence of one drug
(chorus)
Television, the drug of the nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V., it satellite links
our united states of unconsciousness
apathetic therapeutic and extremely addictive
the methadone metronome pumping out
150 channels 24 hours a day
you can flip through all of them
and still there's nothing worth watching
T.V. is the reason why less than ten percent
of our nation reads books daily
why most people think Central America means Kansas
socialism means unamerican
and apartheid is a new headache remedy
absorbed in its world it's so hard to find us
it shapes our mind the most
maybe the mother of our nation
should remind us that we're sitting too close to...
(chorus)
Television, the drug of the nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V. is the stomping ground
for political candidates
where bears in the woods
are chased by grecian formula'd bald eagles
T.V. is mechanized politic's
remote control over the masses
co-sponsored by enironmentally safe gases
watch for the PBS special
it's the perpetuation of the two-party system
where image takes precedence over wisdom
where sound bite politics are served
to the fastfood culture
where straight teeth in your mouth
are more important than the words
that come out of it
race baiting is the way to get elected
Willie Horton or will he not get elected on...
(chorus)
Televison, the drug of the nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
T.V., is it the reflector or the director
does it imitate us or do we imitate it
because a child watches 1500 murders
before he's twelve years old
and we wonder how we've created
a Jason generation that learns to laugh
rather than abhor the horror
T.V. is the place where armchair generals
and quarterbacks can experience first hand
the excitement of video warfare
as the themesong is sung in the background
sugar sweet sitcoms that leave us with
a bad actor taste while pop stars metamorphosize
into soda pop stars you saw the video
you heard the soundtrack
well now go buy the soft drink
well, the only cola that I support
is a union C.O.L.A. (cost of living allowance) on...
(chorus)
Television, the drug of the nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation
Back again, "new and improved"
we return to our irregularly programmed schedule
hidden cleverly between heavy breasted
beer and car commmercials
CNNESPNABCTNT but mostly B.S.
where oxymoronic language like
"virtually spotless" "fresh frozen"
light yet filling" and
"military intelligence" have become standard
T.V. is the place where phrases are redefined
like "recession" to "necessary downturn"
"crude oil" on a beach to "mousse"
"civilian death" to "collateral damages"
and being killed by your own army
is now called "friendly fire"
T.V. is the place where the pursuit of
happiness has become the pursuit of trivia
where toothpaste and cars
have become sex objects
where imagination is sucked out of children
by a cathode ray nipple
T.V. is the only wet nurse
that would create a cripple
on...
(chorus)
Television, the drug of the nation
Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation

That is deep !!
Where can I hear it actually done ?
My son is enjoying collaborating w/ his cousin who writes similar words in his spoken performances, this seems to flow as it should have music, does it?
Hell be Proud and Load if it does, stick it in the music thread so we can check it out. Scope Rap,..cool.
This way he can see the exact opposite of laughter, and benefit from another point of view .
Greecian Formulated Bald Eagles,........that's classic.
Up in Tahoe there is a trend that is being re-kindled called spoken. People all are generally on the darker side also, but occasionally there are some more variations on a theme. They are granted access though to the stage in the theater, where it is done free, and the little kids who are even 6 and 7 are learning to perform in this way very young. I encourage it to my son, but he has yet to join in. But his cousin is a little star already, and those 2 are getting a Scope DAW if their grades remain the same.
With John Bowens Solaris being released, I might start selling my DAW's and re-build a new hardware rig.
This thread was started to create laughter in a forum where hatred and wasted talent was stealing the topics. It was a response to change the subject. It didn't seem to work as a deterent, but Musikmesse will fix it 4 sure. I must go to sleep again and get lost in the world of synths and racks.

Strong and pompous. I hate TV myself but I'd be a total hypocrite if I said it had no worth whatsoever, especially if you have kids around. If you're an intelligent person then TV's bullshit won't get to you.

I guess that makes the majority of human beings unintelligent. It really is a powerful crowd control thing. Why do people pay 1.5€ for 50 grams of sugar and some artificial colour and half a liter of water? Because it says Coca Cola. Why does that matter? Because of commercials - direct and indirect.
Also, do not underestimate how much influence adds have on kids. They really do make things "must have".

Sure, but imho it's a parent's responsibility to control that, in the same way as anything else in your child's life. I'm not a parent myself but my brother is.... if someone told him how he should bring up his kids, he'd tell them to shut the **** up, and rightly so.

I watch tv from time to time but find it a very boring thing all in all. It just gets repetitive. If I had kids, I'd have no tv at all, but that's just me. The show Jimmy posted looks pretty comical to me - doesn't even pretend to be anything but mindless.
In terms of conditioning, I think people underestimate tv's insidiousness because it has two components
1. an outside appearance that everyone recognizes as bs. "I'm too smart for that"
2. a whole set of realities that it pushes, without you noticing it. If adverts didn't work, why would they spend billions yearly on them?
This way you can crap on tv for being mindless but somehow people's buying patterns, thinking patterns, are clearly influenced. It's not the things that are discussed that matter - it's what is assumed. Kind of like a world leader who is constantly chastised for stupidity, but is clearly, undeniably effective in many ways.

No arguments here about that at all... I don't have a TV in the house either. But I know if you have kids it's actually a rather useful thing to have - kids can learn a lot from it and quite simply it can keep them occupied for a while. This is an invaluable thing when you're a parent, I guess you only realise it when you see it up-close.
My point is that it's the parent's responsibility to make sure their kids don't end up to be dumb materialistic consumers. The TV isn't the only influence in this area, there's plenty of it when they're around their friends etc. Simply cutting the TV out doesn't solve the actual issue. Life is a learning experience. You can't learn about something without experiencing it IMHO.

Funny thing is, our kids are smart enough at his age, to let that shit slide.
My boy watches the family guy, science channel, and DVD's that we buy.
We hate commercials, so we bought satellite.
But I love Bill O'Reilly, and rarely miss an episode. He is a right wing do gooder, but when it comes to getting judges and corrupt politicians' attention, he really fucks 'em up. Plus he hates the liberal left, and I love watching him bash those zealots around.
Other Than That, ......me and my boy are creative SFP / Playstation III kinda guys. Who love each others company and love to laugh. I watched the 3 stooges as a child, and still watch 'em as an adult.
Laughter Bonds Everything, and Everybody !!
