ok, after posting about my random freezes i got some good advice from garyb about the midi keyboard remote sensing issue. it seemed that my problem went away, but it`s back. shouldn`t i do a freash install with "standard pc" (i can`t change acpi in bios, my mobo is intel dp965lt)? or should i give the 3.1b drivers a try? my card has no irq conflicts btw.

help me guys, i`m lost on this!

i have never needed standard pc or the 3.1b driver on this mainboard. feel free to try the driver, standard pc shouldn't be nessessary, but you can try it if you wish. is the problem strictly a midi one(only happens when using midi)? if so, you can try a cheap usb midi device like a steinberg mides3....

I dub garyb, of course. I have never needed standard PC installation even when I was using my old P3 500 MHz machine with Windows XP. Of course, you'll only run into IRC conflicts when you do install in standard PC mode since you'll be disabling IRQ steering by Windows. But then again, Windows can be very fickle.

well. no, i don`t think the freezs happen only when midi is in use. anyway i have the filter filtering out active sensing. if not installing 3.1b drivers, what do you suggest i should do garyb?

well, go ahead and try the driver, it can't hurt. what method are you using to determine if you have no irq conflicts? check system information/conflicts sharing. you may not have a conflict, but there may be sharing....
