But seriously, I find it very unusual that she didn't release a new album since 2004.

She probably had a good manager who tried to re negotiate her contract, and failed. But the fact she played here in Vegas, and had a good showing, shows me that she would rather keep the money from concerts, and royalties, rather than share her ability to draw a crowd w/ the record company. These days the record companies try to be manger / owner / distributor etc. The days of them having total control are fading. Thank the Rap Gangsta's for making their voices ( automatic weapons fire ) heard.
