as to the file:
be sure no antivirus is running. if so turn it off, if notr or if it still doesn't work, go to scope/app/dsp and see if it's there. if it is then see if it's marked "read only". if it is, uncheck that. if the sts doesn't work still, delete the file and copy it manually from the install cd. if the file is not there to begin with, copy it manually(cut/paste).

the dsp overload is another issue. let's tackle that second.

vxd folder

thanks,
in the vxd folder, there is TRec.vxd and VRec.vxd, neither are read only.
cant find any thing else on the cd.

vxb or dsp file that's a problem?

the dsp files are in the dsp folder....

just delete the problem file from the install and copy it there from the cd.

what is "dsp file recording vxd"?

maybe, but not likely.
the downloaded version suffers from this kind of occurance occasionaly, but usually, there's a reason, like an antivirus program running during use or install. it's difficult to know for sure why this problem when i can't see your machine.

just delete and recopy the files you suspect. you can do the same with the vxd files. the shotgun effect should work.

TRec.vxd

thanks Gary,
replaced TRec.vxd ,problem solved.
as for minimax ,"unexpected dsp overload ",this is unpredictable.is there a fix for this?

depending on what's in your project and how many chips you have, minimax may need more contiguos dsp than are available. in that case, dsps must be reloaded in a way to allow minimax to hog it's own chips. see if that theory makes sense by trying different loading patterns. you should find a pattern...

yea, minimax needs to be loaded very early in the project.
thanks a lot gary

:)

if you get the dsp overload message, you can usually do a "global optimization" which will reload the dsps in a better order.....

if there's something to optimize, a window will pop up and ask you if it should optimize :-)
press yes :-)
