Nuendo2 & Scope routing problem?

Hi,
I have setup the SFP routing windows, several channels of ASIO2 flt source module link to channels of the STM 2448 mixer.
However, in my Nuendo2 VST connection window, there is only (Luna2 Analog L+R, Pulsar2 Analog L+R, Merge L+R) ASIO port channels available.
I thought it is supposed to have the In1, In2, In3,…….of Scope channels from reading the manual.
Anyone knows the problem?
Thanks.

in the VST connections box, you have to add as many in/out busses as you require. You have to acctually add the busses.
devices/VST Connections choose the tab for inputs, or outputs and clik the add bus button
Save the project in nuendo..... then close nuendo ... when you restatrt you should have all the options of multiple outs. On the tracks :-
----------------------------------
output 1 stereo
1 left
1 right
---------------------------------
Outut 2 stereo
2 left
2 right
---------------------------------
etc. for as many as you have added
The ASIO channels must be open ins SFP before opening nuendo... otherwise it'll only open the 2 that are present.... the sequencer must see all the ASIO ins/outs in the SFP project to know to open them ...
Thats pretty badly explained, but Im sure you get the drift.... experiment and al the waffle i just spilled becomes clear
At least I think thats how it works, I use cubase, tho the 2 are so similar.
Also I may have misread your problem....
do you not have the option to add busses. Was nuendo open when you increased the nuber of ASIO channels in SFP

Yes, that's pretty much what I did.
I opened SFP, link all my ASIO2 module channels to the STM 2448 mixer channels individually.
Then I opened Nuendo2, went to the VST connections input/ouput windows.
The ASIO Device Port is only Pulsar2 Analog L/R, Luna Analog L/R, Merge L/R.
I did add bus (Stereo Out, Stereo Out2,....), but the ASIO Device Port option still as the above.
Just curious, what do you guys choose: release ASIO driver in background or driect monitoring?

I just checked the direct monitoring & release ASIO driver in background, then those ASIO ports appear now.....so strange but the naming are messed up.
1 L Pulsar2 Analog
2 R Pulsar2 Analog
3 L Luna Analog
4 R Luna ANalog
5 L Merge
6 R Merge
7 Out 7 Scope Flt
8 Out 8 Scope Flt
9 Out 9 Scope Flt
10 Out 10 Scope Flt
However, I have checked those ASIO ports are correct, they are correspond to the right channels in the STM mixer.
There is another problem now,......I hear no sound although I see the signal.

too much problem!!!

do not check "release auudio..". you shouldn't need direct monitoring. are you in xtc mode?

As Gary points out, if this checkbox is ticked, then there is NO ASIO driver when the Scope window has focus (as Cubase is in the background) so you will hear nothing.
However, it can be a useful tool if you want to swich Scope projects (for example, between a 'mixing' and 'mastering' set-up) without having to close down Cubase/Nuendo.
e.g.
o check the box
o switch to Scope (ASIO driver is released!)
o change Scope projects
o switch back to Cubase/Nuendo
o uncheck the box

im not at my DAW right now but there should be a choice in the VST setup to "reset connections". try that as well.

Hi all thanks for the responses, but I am not at my DAW, so will check later.
but just wondering,.....if I am in XTC mode, the ASIO ports should be Pulsar2 Analog L/R, Luna Analog L/R, Merge L/R....and when I am in Scope mode, then the ASIO ports should automatically change to the In1, In2, .......so on (according to what has been set in the routing window).
Am I correct?

atleast cubase 3 names the stereo in 1, stereo in 2 etc.
did this in cubase yesterday, had probs first, the reset the connections and it was okish.
just remember to set the appropriate number of asio channels in scope before you enter nuendo.

Again just curious,........when you are in XTC mode, the ASIo ports will be the name of your card, right? (e.g. Pulsar/Luna/....)

Now I can see all the ASIO ports corresponding to the Scope routing windows, but the first 3 ASIO ports naming still Pulsar2 Analog L/R, Luna Analog L/R, Merge L/R,.......and cannot be renamed.
I have tried to reset but nothing happened.
Any idea?
