Try to install Luna II (2001) again , but I dont get through the registration popup. Now I am suffering very bad recordings whcih is very very unhandy seen my production work.
I am not good in technique and installation so please advise ??

Luna popup asks in a rather complex way for :

sofware serial and activation key.

I dont have this for in my manual there is a sticker with only :

- P-sampler V1.01SN xxxxxxxxxxxx
Creamware PD 20 03 01
P- Sampler KEY xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why so many SN and Keys if they dfont work... which needs to be filled in where ? How do I get the activation code ? Creamware doesnt answer to my mails either..

First email

rb(at)creamware.de

with your hardware serial number and ask for an allkeys activation file. This key will contain all keys for your software. It might be an idea to upgrade to SCOPE 4.0 first (you may have to pay depending on your software version) and then get your keys, as you may get extra software. Then when the pop-up appears next time direct your browser to the allkeys file and load it - it should then take all your keys so you don't have to enter them in manually.

4.0 isn't free for luna users. you might ask ralf if you can directly go to 4.5 (though the ordering page says: scope home, which implies 4.0, imho). otherwise it's 98,- plus the 4.5 upgrade, if you desire.

I'll believe you must pay for Scope software from the old Luna software, if your card got the old Luna software.
If you got the Luna software, you need to type in all codes as i recall, and it might not even work on WINXP.
The Luna software was discontinued after Luna 3 - late 2001

correct, you can order the upgrade in the Creamware shop
(Upgrade LUNA -> SCOPE home 98.00
For Luna, PowerSampler, Elektra
All registered users of our 3-DSP boards (Luna, Elektra, Powersampler) can implement the latest SCOPE home 4.0 software on their hardware using this upgrade. You obtain the current SCOPE software and additional plug-ins including Modular II, Arpeg 01, the Effects Package 1, the Main Studio Tools Package, STS 2000P, STS 3000, and STS 4000. After the purchase, the keys necessary for the upgrade will be unlocked on your personalized page. The newly created Allkeys.skf file is required for installing the current software. You can find the current software (SCOPE 4.0) in our support/download area.

But I dont want to purchase new software!!!

I just want to install my card the way it was, so I can play music and record.
Again, after installing with the OLD installation CD I get a popup which asks for keys and SNthat are NOT given to me i the manual/ package sticker.

question 1 : Isnt that a bit weird...ususlly when you BUY something you get the KEY and SN with it. ?

question 2 : how do I get my OLD installation done on XP ?
It worked on my XP for 3 years so I dont see that problem.

please advise.. and dont forget... I am not into this stuff. of upgrades, Scope 4's and reg keys...

Well email Ralf at rb(at)creamware.de and you should still be able to get a new allkeys file. This is easier than entering the numbers manually - especially if you have no note of them (i write all mine in the back of the manual).

I wonder what software he is trying to install, really. I never installed luna software, only scope sfp. there is a possibility to point to your keyfile, but does the luna software provide that option as well?

I have a CD which says LUNA II/ ELEKTRA/ POWERSAMPLER SOFTWARE INSTALLATION CD-ROM FROM CREAMWARE.

Contents of this ReadMe file:
• General information regarding Luna
• What's new in v3.01?
• Important notes
• New features not documented in the manual
• Technical support
• The ReadMe file for the previous version (2.5)

this is the CD I try to install with .....

QUESTION :

As ritten before I suffer from noises and crackle on recorded sessions (CD etc) However playback is fine, and also the signal comes in my computer/ sounds good. Its ONLY AFTER recording with Soundforge or similar programs that the sound quality is shit. Is this related to the not-installed card/software ???? Or is this another problem ???

please advise ..

There is a lot of stuff about Luna v3 software, if you search this forum, and go back to 2001 - 2002. I found a lot by searching "Luna v3". I used Luna v3 with WIN98, and i have to say, upgrading to Scope Fusion Platform was a huge advancement :-)

In your device manager, does it look like your Creamware card / drivers are working ok?
Soundforge and similar progs, do you use ASIO or wave drivers?
If you can listen via the Luna card, then hardware must be ok.

If you don't want to upgrade to Scope 4, I'd advice to at least upgrade to the 3.1c software. Again this can be downloaded from CW's website. Unlike the 4.0 upgrade, this should also be free for Luna users, and you should be able to use it with your existing key (once you've found the right one ;))

I wouldn't bother trying to troubleshoot crackles and stuff until your software is properly installed.

that the key in your manual doesn't work is strange. I'd say it should work

if it's a luna card that is already upgraded to scope, then use 4.0. you'll need to contact CWA, but it's free.

if the luna card only has keys for luna software, you'll definitely want to get 4.5. afaik, the cost is 98euro, the same as the luna upgrade to scope platform. maybe your only choice for 98euro will be 4.0, but...4.5 and luna to scope are the same price, i think you can get away with justy buying one, but i could be wrong. functionally 4.0 and 4.5 are the same. 4.5 just adds a lot of plugins. check out your options. going to 4.5 directly might be worthwhile in any case.

cause some of you wonder why the key is not working let me ask you and I woul like to speedup things since CW is not responding at all !!! :

in the pop up I am being asked to insert a sotware serial # AND a activation key after the popoup automatically inserts the SN for my P- Sampler.

On the sticker in my manual I have further

- a P - Sampler Key (where comes this Key in the story ?)
- A LUNA KEY (is this the Software KEY ?) FOR SN xxxxxxx
(where comes this SN in the story ?

quite strange isnt it to give so many softwarekeys but not the right ones to ffill in the popup ???

thanx for the advises >

On top left is your cards hardware no.
I think you type P-Sampler Key where it says "Activating Key"
Just try, if nothing works you need to get new key.
Possible the key changed for every upgrade? Upgrade was not free those days.

Wow, that splash window's going back a bit. The PowerSampler card and the Luna card were the same card with different software. You must forgive us all for suggesting you upgrade, because most of us can't remember that software version, and it's difficult for us to help.

Enter your PowerSampler Key in the Activation box and hit Save Activation key. As you can see it should be a string with letters and numbers - ignore the box saying serial number, can't even remember what that was for. If that doesn't work try the Luna Key you have. Don't worry about it being Luna or PowerSampler - you (hopefully) will have all the software you need - i believe the environments were the same, you just got a choice between having Mod2 or PowerSampler (STS3000) - you may even have both.

Okay AFAIK it works like this:

the software serial No is used to generate the Request string in combination with the hardware serial of your card. This is so that creamware can register the software to the card.
Normally what you would first get the serial number, you fill this in and the request string will update itself. You send the request string via email to Creamware and they do the registration, then they will send you the Activation Key which let's you use the software.

But seeing as you have already used this software you don't have to do this. You should already have the activation key (otherwise you'd never have been able to use it) . As you don't seem to have the right key, really your only chance is to be patient and wait for Creamware to send you the right key.

As said before, you are using a rather old version of the software and it's definitely recommended to upgrade to one of the newer versions. However this should still work once you get the key back.

btw I'd say the Luna key in the manual would have to be the one that you use as activation key here. Or maybe the code in the manual is in fact the serial No and not the activation key? Hmmm, well in your first post you say that it does say "key" and it's already linked to the hardware serial as well.

okay... I have got a allkeys.skf
opened it with viewer and it has numerous serials for different software applications.

what should I do now ? install the old cd or install a newer installation package, and where should I move the skf file ? Or just use it to type manually ?

please advise ?

What keys did you get? Does it have 'Scope 4.0' in there?

You're really testing our memories now. i think if you hit the Paste from Clipboard button, browse to where you have your allkeys file and then hit Save Activation Key, that my work. If you have any keys for newer software like 3.1c or 4.0 then you can download that from the ftp server and activate them. Perhaps cut and paste what you have keys for (but not the keys, although i doubt they're much use to any hackers).
