yes arela, 4 AAs - the stuff which is normally used in my bike's lights
I had forgotten about the PSU input, so a wallwart serve, too.
Unfortunately my VL-1 has serious throat problems, almost coughs - didn't know they were sensitive to climate...
It's most likely the same problem as (more frequently) with the DH100 midi sax, a wornout electrolytic capacitor.

I also have a VL-10 in Alu which violates the genovian convention, so hard to listen to (large piezos...), but it's stylish - I paid 50 Euro just to get that piece of crap.

The DH100 on the other hand is a great midi controller, breath pressure sent as aftertouch, so you can immediately use with a lot of stuff - very responsive.

Or how about the DG20 space age midi guitar ? rubber fretboard with integrated microswitches, activated by pressure of the string on the fret - triggered by an inductive impuls sensor at the bridge.

the only sampler I ever really managed is the SK1 Sampling keyboard, which is also a PCM and additive synth - sequencer.
It is THE user interface without a face (or display) - an ingenous toy.

... I better stop now, but I could sequel with the rest of the collection
