How to mess up - and fix it

Last sunday i could not get sound from asio sources. No problems with wave source, adat or zlink.
I swapped between most of the asio souces accessible - still no sound.
Surgery needed, dived into my pc - could not find anything suspect.Then i changed about all parameter in Cubase - still no sound.
I reinstalled Scope FP - and still no sound thrue asio - zappa: "it made me so angry"
Monday: where to start? I turned on the pc, updated drivers etc - no sign of anything wrong
And still no sound from ASIO sourc. A humble man opened the Cubase manual, but no surprise found.
For the n. time i opened the VST Connections.
And for some reasons, there was something really strange:
On both folders, INPUTS and OUTPUTS, everything was routed to "1 IN 1 Scope 24-bit" and so on.
How come outputs where routed to INPUT's?
Guess it has to do with Cubase Controll Room, or a dull operator
Post open for honor or dishonor
