Hi everyone,

I just got the new CW system and need to get it running fast cause I have scheduled a band tomorrow, huh. I installed and connected the gear. Tried to get the sound out of the A16U but can't figure it out why it doesn't work.

I see the signal going through the mixer and also created the Z-link modules in the routing window for destination... still can hear anything. A16U is assigned as slave (Z-link). What to do next?

Maybe you can also send me a (PC) configuration file which should work.

Please help me fast. I hope I can get it going this evening and prepare everything in time.

No one knows the basic stuff about connecting the A16U to the Scope cards via Z-link?

then you haven't much time left to do your homework...
you seem to do it for fun anyway as only a complete idiot would start to install a new (and unknown!) system right the day before a scheduled and payed job...
while we're at it... my rate for that type of questions is between 80 and 120 Euro per hour (depending on conditions and sympathy)

not that I want to offend you or make a fool out of you, but the tone of your writing reminds at someone in a self service store (just the cashier is missing...)

btw there's few you could do wrong with an A16u and a Scope system 'to get a sound out' (given you have connected some phones or monitors) that's not covered on that 3 (or so) pages in PDF format (it's called manual).
It's more likely that the problem is located somewhere in the sequencer - Scope communication, so you'd need to give more specs about your system and what exactly you want to do anyway.

I waited one week to get the stuff through customs so it's not really my fault ...
Anyway I am getting the sound now. I connected the Wave module to the
B Z-link and I am getting the sound out on 1-2 ch. How come A Z-link modul
doesn't connect to 1-8outs? Anyway it doesn't matter so much.

I will be recording bass tomorrow so I need to set up things just for the bass in
and no latency monitoring. it should be fairly simple I guess.

Astroman, does your weird sense of humor originate from your bad childhood or am I wrong?

What do you have your (expected) mixer outs connected to? Are you trying to run monitors off A16u outs or from the master pair on the card? If you see signal coming into the Scope mixer, as in it's lighting up the VU and you'd expect to hear something, do you mean that you see that coming in on Z-Link Source channels or from internal generators (synths)?

If I were you I'd first try to get something to come out the main outputs on the card, just as a sanity check of your audio environment. Connect the CTR out left and right from the scope mixer to Scope Analog Dest, and if something is coming out the mixer mains it should now be coming out the left and right analog pair. Prove this, then get the A16 working.

Suggest that on the mixer (I speak of the STM 2448 or 4896) you go onto the Talkback page of the master screen and turn down the Ctrl level before testing your signal so you're not running full hotness, and potentially damaging, junk out the speakers and more importantly into your ears.

Note- this is not ZLink specific advice. I think Astroman is probably right in that the problem lies in the Routing.

I am tring to get sound out of SX and all I see in the VST connections / stereo OUT BUSS - Scope 16Bit 1L/R. I don't see any module with such name in the routing window...

Which models do I need in the routing window for SX IN/OUT connections?

and as you can see, I'm pretty good in it, I knew your problem even before you clearly mentioned it ...

ok, kidding off - I stand corrected and I really appreciate it's like that, sorry for the sarcasm, honestly.
You should have just mentioned the unexpectable delay, but then... how could you know that this attitude I was poking at is so widespread ?

you should use the Asio modules for that
what goes from Scope to the sequencer is an Asio Destination
what comes from SX is an Asio source

first of all you have to quit SX before modifying this project or it will get confused
Scope can remain active

add asio source and destination modules from the software io menu to the project window, right click open their surface and set the number of channels
use asio-2 24 bit as a beginning (they all sound identical, but the optimal choice depends on your way of work and can be set later)
after you've set the number of channels restart SX, it will find the Scope Asio drivers which you can assign to channels and busses then
