Long time no see.

I have a basic question and my apologies if it is "too basic".

I am minimising my set-up and want to stop using some of my hardware but not totally. Basically, I have always used my Emagic AMT 8 as a MIDI interface. I would like to stop using it and just use the Pulsar breakout cable as my MIDI interface.

1) What modules should I have in my Pulsar Environment and what is connected to what (with regard to using MIDI and talking to my sequencer)

2) I have a master keyboard that I want to use to play my Korg Triton Rack but I am not sure how I connect that. What I mean is:

I need the IN and OUT (as far as I know) MIDI inputs of my rack connected so that I can use the knobs of my rack to send and receive data. But if my IN/OUT sockets of my rack are conected to the Pulsar IN/OUT sockets, where does the OUT of my master keyboard connect to to play my Triton Rack?

I hope that makes sense. I also hope that I haven't totally got the wrong end of the stick with what I am trying to achieve and that it is possible.

Any help will really be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

make sure you import the keyboards midi into the SFP project by the (hardware) midi input module of Creamware, route that module to your sequencer (as usual), in your sequencer activate the track that outputs on the rack's midichannel to the Creamware Midi (out)port, and there you go
To be more flexible, I wouldn't remove the AMT module, it adds serial midi outs. Once hooked to your (simplified) system, it doesn't hurt

Thanks Hubird for your reply, but excuse my ignorance, but I am not sure I follow you. Can you be more specific (spell out exactly step by step what I need to do), bear in mind that I am a bit lacking in knowledge with studio setups(albeit virtual ones). The bit I don't get is:

your master keyboard should be connected to the hardware midi input of your CW card, represented by the Pulsar Midi source module.
That module you have to connect to the Sequencer Midi Destination module.
In your sequencer, you see the midi input led being activated when playing keys, if you have the Creamware Midi port active that is.
Now, by activating the sequencer's midi track of your choice, you route the incoming Midi to your destination of choice.
This can be a VSTi synth, sequencer-internal, or an external synth, eigther in SFP or outside your computer.
In both last cases you have to output the choosen track's midi channel used by your aimed instrument to the 'Creamware Midi port', and therefor you have to load in SFP the 'Sequencer Midi source module'.
Chain this module to the SFP Midi Destination module and/or to a SFP softsynth (outs always can be split).
By choosing the right Midi channel for the active midi track in your sequencer, you decide if the midi signal is going to a soft synth in SFP or to an external machine of any kind.

The alternative is to hook your master keyboard's midi to the Korg, and hook the Midi Thru of of the Korg to the Midi-In of your card.
By choosing the right Midibasic channel in your master keyboard you decide if you aim your midi at the Korg or at SFP synths or sequencer VSTi instruments.
But this route is less flexible, to my idea
