I'm doing a project for modern dancers and I need the sound of screaming. It doesn't have to sound real. Thanks!

I remembered that if you had a bandpassed noise, with a high q value, and distorted it, it sounded like a distorted scream. Not realistic, but it sounds really intense. Somewhere between a tire screech and a screem.

I might be able to patch together a quick one..

discodsp/nordlead does it nice

in modular take two oscs
set up a bit of fm interaction to make em sounds less harmonic and oscy, use a formant filter, now the scope ones dont screech so much so use distortion after the formant filter, or maybe a lp with some resonance after and then distortion.

give your osc pitch envelope with some attack, give also the formant filter similar envelope. maybe some lfo on the pitch for movement.

i would also bitcrush it for a more convincing grungy/screamy sound.
pitch shitftng can also help here i think.

experiment with this basic setup and you'll get some nice stuff i'm sure.

I forgot about that one. I have to put my Flexor patches back. My system was destroyed. Thanks.
