Hi,

This is probably a long shot but I am trying to get Pulsar 2 with scope 4.5 to work in the same system as an Emu 1820m emulator x, the problem is the pci limit has been reached message keeps coming up when I use more than 2 masterverb pro reverbs. If I take out the Emu card then it goes away, it looks like both of the cards need a lot of pci bandwidth.
My setup is as follows

Asus A8V deluxe motherboard
ATi Radeon 9800XT agp video card
2 gig of ram
Emu 1820m
Pulsar 2 (this is an old second hand one upgraded to scope 4.5)
Athlon 4200 X2 dual core cpu

Any one have a simular system with any ideas, I dont really want to get rid of the emu as I use the inputs also the Emulator X software.

Thanks for looking,

Graham

Hi,
I just got a 1616m and a PCMCIA adaptor of a client as part payment. I read this on the EMU forum. I dont know if this is what you are looking for? Works well. Ive got two P2s. I havent done much testing, but worth a try ????

Yepp, me too. I'm running Pulsar-II and SRB (15DSP) together with my EMU-1820 with no problems. I'm using Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, P4 3.0Ghz and 2Gb RAM.

I bought a k8ns of ebay, its just the basic one and not the pro, I have reinstalled windows but when I run Emulator x2 it blue screens with ks.sys error, if I disable the pulsar 2 then it works fine. I have reinstalled twice but still the same results. Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

Graham

first thing to check is the IRQ allocation and possible conflicts

what card is on what IRQ and which device share its resources with other devices.

RAID makes no sense with a DAW, you've experienced the tradeoff... ;)
it is not 'safer' (mirror mode) because 95% of all 'errors' are user based ;) and 'striping' isn't required either, as regular disks are fast enough.
A dedicated disk for samples will have more impact.

cheers, Tom
