I just tried to log on to the creamware site, and it looks like it has been hacked by "Triad".
They left a message that says "Triad owns you".
Anyone have any idea how long this has been like this?

That's pretty disturbing.
They tell you to go to this website:
http://www.gigachat.net/
It is in Spanish.

Creamware has no competitors

these things happens to any company who care less about server updates. and as everybody knows, noone looks after their servers from friday to mondays, which makes them open for attacks.
maybe a lesson learned.

and by the way they dont say you should check a web site. they say if u want to contact them, go into a certain IRC chat channel.

Could it be they forgot to pay their server?

I can't see anything funny in it... If somebody unintended enters your space it is like a rape

you can google the item - the dudes are from brazil... (according to the domain) maybe they didn't get along with recent soccer results ?

it's annoying, but nothing serious - formerly kids used to kick soccer balls into window planes, now they 'deface' a site
[later]

the above is technically wrong - depending on sophistication those folks may gain a lot of control over a system including the use of root kits to cover their actions
[/later]
but since we're on the subject - there IS some terrible stuff going on regarding spyware and root kit based stuff.
Go and buy and old Mac from eBay as long as supplies last... and never connect your working machine to the net
cheers, tom

Security through obscurity never works in the long run. As for never connecting a working machine, more & more software developers are assuming a net connection and their 'online' activation methods are eventually going to lose the 'phone in your activation' methods. Unfortunate but I suspect becoming a reality.
