this is a recording, mixing, mastering project i'm working on these days. this mix is mastered, but won't be the last version i think. so, any comments very welcome!

please don't care about the out of tune voices, i'll do some tuning on them...

Setup:
Recording preamps tfpro16 and dbx376
A/D conversion A16 Ultra
Tracking in Cubase SX
Mixing with STM2448
Mastering with bx_digital, psyQ, Optimaster and Waves L2 for Dither

this might contradict the project's intention completely, but how about make it a 'fake' live hymn ?
Imho there's not enough substance to make it stand against (say) something in the Jefferson Airplane style as a studio production (biiig, pathetic sound).
But there's a lot of movement with the singer and the sounds that already remind at a live performance - add the stadium atmo and it could be stunning

maybe some history. these are three old hippie friends, they met for just playing music 4 times a year. the big hippie, also known as the master hippie of this group only wanted to record a song for fun. he asked his daughter and a young, not really experienced drummer to join the formation, and voilà, this is it!

btw. when it sounds "live", my job is done cause all what we are doing with our digital stuff is to get it as close to a real live experience as possible
