Hi there,
i have several Synths listed as Effects. They only show up in the Effects menu under Cubase SX 3. I only have the Minimax correctly listed as Synth. Pro 12 , SB404 and B2003 etc. are only listed as effects.
I have tried a reinstall of Scope - the same.
I tried to take the Minimax dll, doubled it and renamed it to SB404 etc. - the same....
Does anyone know this Problem and how to fix it?
Cheers
Daniel

nope, theres just SX3 on the System. Everything is quite fresh - no old installation whatsoever....

In the Scope 4.5 Installer, theres a Folder named: VSTPlugins - in there are several subfolders. Its funny because there is a Folder named Synths in there which contains all the Synths i have listed under Synths. And a Folder which is named Plug-Ins which contains the Synths that are listed under effects....
Can anyone confirm that?
Best
Daniel

I have the opposite problem, Vinco is listed as a synth and cannot be loaded as an effect.
The very useful free mixer and insert for xtc provided by (can't remember now but thanks for them anyway, great tools) is also listed as synths.

I managed to edit this in VST Plugins.xml and change the listing for Vinco in Cubase. Effects is category 1 and synths 2. Now Vinco shows up as an effect - but still don't work. Probably there's more faulty settings, ins, outs etc.
Perhaps someone would have the heart to post the settings for Vinco M&S?

Start/all programs/cubase sx3/cubase sx3 application data folder.
Keep sx closed while you edit the file. You can use notepad to edit. Hope this helps!
And, if you have Vinco... ;^)

Hey BB,
it worked out, great. But it still wont show the Pro-12 and the B2003.
And several other Plugs like the Miniscope wavelength edition or feemee and other stuff shows up outside the container...
weird... somehow they are loaded outside the Frame for the surface in Cubase.....
Do u know that prob?
anyways - i go to bed now.
U really helped me out much

Well I think it may have to do with the other settings in that xml file. If you fill in the right values for everything it probably works. I'm going to bed too.
Anyone with sx and vinco - if you have the time - please post the cubase xml settings and I'll try it out.
My settings look like this:
string name="Group" value="VSTPlugxtcVinco M"/
member name="Values"
int name="Category" value="2"/
int name="Delay" value="0"/
int name="Flags" value="312"/
int name="Num Inputs" value="0"/
int name="Num Outputs" value="2"/
int name="Num Params" value="0"/
int name="Num Programs" value="1"/

Hey BB,
now i got all my Plugs working properly

.
Thanks to u - this was by far the best idea to edit this VSTPlugs.xml .
Ich can use XTC now, excactly how i wanted it to work. It really runs perfect.
And, what i made to get everything working in the end was:
Simply deleted the acutal VSZPlugins.xml.
Then start Cubase. It writes a new .xml then on startup.
Then edited a few things like inputs and category...
Perfect!
I think its good to delete the VSTPlugins.xml from time to time to get cubase a new fresh .xml.
I my old xml there were a bunch of vsts i had deinstalled a long time ago....
So, thx for everything!
Best
Daniel

Some 3 tweakinghours later I reinstalled Vinco from the .oxe and it worked out instantly. Before that it came back as a synth or didnt show up graphically.
When dealing with the somewhat geeky/tweaky Scope installation one sometimes forget to try the obvious, easy solutions. No recording today, but maybee tomorrow... solved at least!
