I've just upgraded my PC and I would like to reinstall my Creamware Pulsar 2 Soundcard on a Asus A8N-E motherboard. I am currently using an AMD 3200+ and 2GB Ram. Also I have just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled WindowsXP. Is there a specific way so as to install everything correctly?

The previous installation (on my old configuration) was done by the distributer I got the coundcard from, so I am hesitating to continue on installing everything by myself.

Is there a website that I can download the latest drivers from?

Which drivers do you think I should go for?

Got any ideas or any good piece of advice to share?

Got any pdfs you'd like to share?

Please feel free to do so. I'm already missing my music PC!!

PS: I am planning to use Cubase SX3.

The computer belongs to my brother and I am responsible for upgrading it. I have never had any experience with Pulsar II before. heeeeellllpppp!!!

Just install windows,the motherboard drivers,the graphics card drivers then your internet and finally scope.you'll need the keys file.be careful not to share the same pci bus as the graphics card.if you have problems change the pci slot.That's the rough Idea.

If you don't have the keys to install Scope 4.0 then make sure you contact ralf (rb@creamware.de) with your SN of the card and a small note to send you the all keyfile with scope 4.0 key.

then download the latest version 4.0 from the FTP site.

Where do you think I can get the WindowsXP driver from?

when you unzip the Scope software there is a folder inside labeled drivers. inside that there are 2 folder. 1 for win 98 and 1 labeled win2K. the win2k folder is for XP.

Hello guys again!!

The problem I am facing now, after studying hard into the forum and the manuals

is getting a bluescreen error mentioning portcls.sys when I try to install the driver for the card.

I changed the PCI slot of the card, but unfortunately the problem remains. What can be done so as to avoid that occuring again?

Is anything wrong with the IRQs or do I miss something?

Looking forward to hearing from you again guys!

did you disable the onboard sound card in the bios??

if not try giving that a go.

more detailed info about your system may help. (components&OS)

blue screens are a bad sign. is this on a fresh installation(after a repartion and format)? blue screens often indicate a hardware problem(mobo or vid card usually). hopefully, it's something simpler....

Have you installed that ADAPTEC-thing?

1. install win XP
2. install Adaptec ("Install.bat XP32")
3. shutdown and put in CW-cards
4. install Scope-driver
5. install Scope

later versions of xp do not need this. i think it is a win2000 thing mainly.

make shure the latest drivers for your hardware are installed, for mobo, chipset, graphics etc.

AMD 3200+*
Asus A8N-E mobo*
Asus N6600LE 256MB graphix card*
Kingston 2x1GB Ram*
80+120 GB HDD
Pulsar 2
CDRW Yamaha 8x

*The hardware followed by an asterisk (*) are brand new

It's an upgrade of my brother's older computer. I've just installed WinXP, Office and WinRar

I installed the Adaptec thing and still the same thing is happening.

Yes, I've disabled the mobo's sound card.

I've downloaded the latest drivers for every component and installed them.
