... which is no guarantee that it doesn't emit (audible) noise
I have a fanless PSU on which the switching of the regulators is louder than the slow moving fan of a 'standard' PSU - and disk access of my IDE FlashDrive is audible as well.

cheers, Tom

no big deal, but that PSU was 150 Euro...
btw the most amazing strange noise comes from my graph card when I select large regions of text for copy-pasting.
Sounds like a swarm of birds some 50ft from outside the window - stunningly real
that's a lot of birds when you repeat it several hundred times, and in fact it took me a while to realize that there were no animals... after some 'wtf do these birds mess around here ?'

cheers, tom

probably in a b grade 50's or 60's science fiction movie/t.v.show :smile:But I do know I love the idea of no moving parts . I know 35 gig of drive is not huge but I could get away with that no problems and what with seek times being blitzed that just has to have an impact... bigger than processor speed dont you think ??
now it's just a matter of waiting for the price to drop :smile:I cant wait to hear my graphics card speaking in tongues
