yesterday i posted my first simple dynatube experiment, using clean and crunch sounds.
now it's time for some simple and ignorant power metal!!!

the guitar was obtained using the MESA amp + JM speaker.
before dynatube, i inserted Vinco DT and a little Tdrive
some slight EQ was applied.

the bass is from the Nestor Bass Library
drums are bob clearmountain (cymbals, hat and tom) and G&S Custom Works Drum kit Sample Library 1.0 (kick/snare)

all the track was realised in one short afternoon, and most of the time went to drum/bass programming.
the final track was quicly mastered in a chain that comprised PsyQ and optimaster
i'm sorry if the mix sound poor (any advice would be appreciated!)
i just wanted to let you hear some dynatube distortion sounds.... hope to be successfull in promoting dynatube!

PS: the track was inspired by the might epic metal band rhapsody and if there is some singer who want to sing over this karaoke track he will be welcome!

That sounds very convincing to me at least .

Mix could be better as you say. I would personally lower the guitars some, get it more open, but that would defeat the purpose of this track .

Well, quite a convincing sound. If you can get those kind of sounds from it then the Dynatube bundle has got me for a client. I have Guitar Rig 2 and am happy with that but it's a bit of a CPU hog. How would you compare the Dynatube bundle with Guitar Rig?
Guitar Rig is quite versatile, is the Dynatube bundle as versatile?

Thanks

Imo, the dynatube bundle isn't worth much on it's own, but it integrates seamlessly into the SFP/XTC-enviroment - making it versatile-as-you-like.

Some of the models in guitar rig 2 I would say, sound better stock, but even there you would tweak them with effects (boosts, EQ etc.) to get "professional" results.

Dynatube however gets closer to the real thing than anything I've ever tried before, to the point that I would use it on the final product.

And I am speaking _mainly_ of high-gain applications here, which seems to be the achilles heel of most modellers.

voidar is right, best guitar sim i've ever heard... and for only 189EUR, it's more than fair!! dsp usage is a bit high, about 2 dsp's per dynatube instance...

So it works in XTC mode too? Great if that is the case!!!!!

Sure it does, like any "modern" plug-in from Creamware.

However, I had to "install" it myself via the dll-rename-trick.

double bassdrum (antrax would be proud of you), convincing riff! only thing I miss is some gothic metal diva singing accompanied by a deep growling, evil looking...shouter.

Promis to work on that and give us the final track when finished!

All thumbs up for metal on planetz!
