Sorry for that crap german describtion, now here in english.

I hope someone could help me with an annoying problem.

And so it goes:

I run a Pulsar I (Rev.1.0 1998) on an Abit NF7-S 2.0 (NForce2) board.
As software I am using Scope 4.0.
So when I switch the SampleRate in Scope the message "PCI-master overflow" appears.
It happens also sometimes when I press play in Cubase, and afterwards the Pulsar (set as Master) is desyncronized, no SampleRate at all, and afterwards usually the PCI overflow message apperas.
So for that PCI changing, I tried it out but without success. My boardlayout is not very supportive for the creamware cards. I just can use a slot that shares an Irq with the graphic card or one that shares with an onboard SATA controller. The latter causes more problems, even distorted files in my system
So do U think the graphic card interferes in that PCI data flow?
I think I have to brake a CD input for the onboard soundcard to get another choice of a PCI slot where the card fits in then.
But before I would like to know if that could lead to a solution of my overflow problem.
Any suggestion ?? Other possibilities of malfunction sources?

allthough i just partly understood your message ill try to help.

In general nforce2 motherboards runs perfect with creamware cards. you should try switching pci slots.

I've searched Google for images of that Mobo and it seems there is plenty of space to move the PCI cards.
Anyway, IRQ sharing is to avoid absolutely, expecially with serial ATA and graphic card.
You have an AGP video card right? Because if you have a PCI video card, that's to avoid as well.
If you can't move the cards...change mobo.

Set the priority of the sfp.exe in the TaskManager to low. Set the cubase priority to normal.
Kill all Background tasks that are not necessary.

Rest a while- maybe have a beer.

If that not helps try to fool around with the graphics cards acceleration. set it to low and try again to work with your DAW.

using just a pulsar 1, i remember using scope 3.1a, there was a similar problem on my system when switching to 96 khz and this was fixed by version 4.0 of the software.
About cubase, if you use just a pulsar 1 and many asio outputs, it is possible that this card can not handle the needed pci bandwidth.

It is not clear to me the samplerate you are working to, but if you need more than 44.100 khz, try run scope with just 2 asio outputs and just the necessary i/o routing modules.

yes, i think you need to switch slots. maybe trade with the other card.
