But I get this error when trying to activate the creamware plugins in live "Hardware version 16 detected. The hardware requires a software update. Please consult the installation guide."
Now, is this error from Scope or Live?
If it doesn't like the plugins, is there any way I just use them as VST's off my cpu power?

I've got the most recent copy of Scope installed.
Was there a specific part in the manual you were referring to because i've read it and can't see anything regarding this problem

Cheers for the help garyb
As far as I know the driver is installed, surely otherwise I wouldn't be able to use the soundcard for everything else? I am using it for Live ok generally, just the plugins

Cheers,
I think I was confused. I had set the folder as C:ScopeDevicesXTC, whose plugins are *.dev as opposed to C:VstpluginsXTC where they are *.dll
Why are there two seperate XTC folder on top of C:ScopeDevices, which are the ones I load in the environment
Is it possible to get the *.dev synths i've got as *.dll xtc because I love FM4

You can virtually load any SFP plug-in as VST, just use the dll-trick.

I really don't know why there are two Device folders as you only enable plug-ins in XTC-mode by dll-files.
