six string basses are very nice.
the sound is different from velocity 1 to velocity 127 and changes in every numeric value.
so.
if you really want a pro deep bass, play a bass in six-string and play it very softly(low velocity). just raise the channels volume settings. isn't it fat and deep and tight?
much more than hitting it hard in lower volume.
it dippends offcource on your need,
but it is great that very low velocitys give such a deep sound.
you just have to raise its gain.

about the same occurs in many synths, but i mention this here because of the deep effect of six-string bass.

that's a sort of natural behaviour. in a real string, the harder you play, more high frequencies will come out, so, if you have a constant volume level, slow velocities will show more bass components.
