kind of cool to see all the comparisions tho. I still don't get why aliasing isn't just called nyquist mirroring.

My former professor had an interesting take on this, "it used to be so cool back when samplers came out because you could use aliasing to cause all these digital strangeness to come out. Now they're trying to take it out!" So, it won't be long before we're going to get vintage emulations of samplers that have nyquist mirroring.

I still don't get why aliasing isn't just called nyquist mirroring.
I suppose, the problem is most people have a problem to pronounce aliasing...when it comes to nyquist mirroring -> errr.... I mean the ny shit?! And let a japanese or a chinese pronounce that...the results may be a smart thing for a song competition :smile:

aliasing is what gives the 'real' DX7 that extra over the thinny NI FM7 - I love it :grin:
